EXTERNAL POWER

Hi guys, just wondering if anybodys external power switch works.  My APU works just fine but external power switch doesn't do anything... Havn't seen any other complaints about it though.  Oh and one more thing while I'm here.  My autopilot only controls the airspeed when I'm level.  If I want it say at 250 knots the thottle just remains at full power.  I havn't seen these questions asked yet.
