C130X Radar (Read 8044 times)

	Just wondering if anyone could enlighten me on how to read the C130 radar. Have flown it many hours and the numbers that come up when another aircraft comes on the screen seem random and have no relationship to the aircraft altitude or anything else. Also have XLoad and the radar in the FA-18C/D is great is there some way to adapt this radar to the C130?

	I too have questions about the TCAS radar on the C-130x, is it suppose to be able to pick up Vatsim multiplayer traffic? I've been flying the C130 exclusively on Vatsim these past few months and I don't think it does... Can CS Confirm? Can another User confirm? Thanks Mark

	A. The numbers next to the detected aircraft return on the radar represent how many feet above or below your current altitude that the other aircraft is. Without starting FSX up to double check I believe the readings are in hundreds of feet. +30 = +3000' etc. B. I use the C-130 extensively on line using FSHost and I've never seen it detect an online pilot. I don't think this particular radar setup was made to do that.

	I tested out the TCAS yesterday and nojoy does not work shows it works during the test function but not during flt. I flew with two different people both using FSINN and no TCAS and we were flying close formations. I think my biggest complaint would have to be that the fuel gauges dont work. Robert

	You know its pretty sad... I can download a freeware plane and have its Radar pick up other players in VATSIM or whatever. Captain sim forum lurker, has it ever been discussed to make radar work for multiplayer environment??

	The C-130 Radar\TCAS works fine in multiplay on our test systems. See screenshots. Unfortutanely we can not guarantee its compatibility with all available networks\hosts.

	So was this tested on your network or on vatsim, fsx network? Thanks. I know you couldnt have used it on vatsim since that is where i tested it. I used FSINN for my test since at the time Squawkbox 4 was not released until just a few weeks ago. And since you got it to work please let us know how and where. Thanks Robert

	With the huge popularity of VATIM when will the C-130 Radar works in VATSIM? A small patch would be very appreciated!
