Reset on first time shooting approach?

After starting FSX, selecting the Shuttle, loading the approach scenario all components of the cockpit appear non-functional (no MFD display, no hud, no working artificial horizon). Once I bring up the taskFS task bar and select reset to restart the approach, everything now works. Having to reset in this fashion is the issue.

Ya know, im sure as I've not had this happen yet but what Im seeng as a common thing of this is that those experiencing this are selecting the Shuttle first and then loading the flight.

Try just loading the flight without first selecting the Shuttle as the desired aircraft.
Just a geuss mind you, but something to try.
