I heard the other day that Fed Ex has purchased 90 +- new boeing 757's. Shocked

It sure would be nice to get a re-paint for the CS 757 in Fed Ex colors! Grin

That would indeed be awesome.

Where'd you hear of this?  I just scoured all press releases from Fed Ex and nothing is officially out yet.

They are buying old used 757-200's and converting them into cargo haulers.

Aaah -- so it intends to TRY to replace the fleet, but it needs to shop around.  VERY true though that their cost savings will be MUCH better if they replace those old bugger 727's Smiley  Don't get me wrong - I like to look at old vintage aircraft in museums, but as a real world pilot I'd rather share the sky with a more equipped airliner and crew that has better situational awareness with equipment such as the 757 has Smiley

Now we'll definitely have to find a repainter to do this job on the CS bird.

Since there is quiet a bit of interest in this I thought I'd take some time and get to work.

There's not doubt....FedEx is buying 90+ 757-200's. We have to buy something to replace the aging 727's, so the 757 is an economical choice. The fuel savings alone prompts the decision, but the obvious payload increases were definitely factored in. I'll never fly the 757 because my heart belongs to the C208 Smiley

Just about finished. Since I had to make it from scratch I based the format on the current scheme applied to the airbus, 727 and the DC10. I had to make some adjustments for the 757 airframe.

Question - How would you like it?

A - PW engines
B- RR engines
C - one of each?

Dax

PS. I'll do a remake once they enter service with Fedex.

Just a few more tweaks then it is ready.

Anyone interested in testing it for me. With my reduced graphics capacity I can not use a high resolution.

Send me an email and I'll forward it on.
