Here you go Cody.
Just did a search on Airliners.net. using the last four digits of the tail number and Hercules as aircraft type.

http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0909184&size=L&width=1024&height=780&sok=&...

C-130H
Tail number 78-0812
Oklahoma Air National Guard.
The nose art, I believe, was applied during operations in the Gulf.

We have nose art on one of our birds that just got back.  "Artic Weasel"  Pic of a Eagle, shooting a M-16.  I'll see if I can grab a pic for you guys.  There is another aircraft with some nose art, but I beleive it wasn't applied as well as the other aircraft.  It came off in the wash when it came back.

When I was at Lyneham I arrived into work one day to see the whole pan was awash with white paint.
In there wisdom they applied a coat of temporary white paint to an aircraft on the night shift. Can't remember if it was for UN work or a winter scheme. Well as you can imagine British weather being what it is. Along came the rain. Yep it was temporay. Lasted 7 hours.
After an hour in work all you could see were white boot prints across everything as guys went to and from the hangar to flight prep the aircraft.

I think the CS team have already mentioned this site but here it is again.

http://www.herkynoseart.com/

Here are a few new ones as well

If you are into your light reading before bed then don't start here.

There just seems to be an endless supply of Herc info.

Looks great. You got both the indian and nose art perfectly.
I found a font called "AmarilloUSAF" and it's spot on for military type tail numbering.

Also for the Navy the font is LongbeachUSN. It is payware but worth it if you do a lot of Navy/USMC textures. Which I do.

I had to fly last night and wasn't able to go home and get a camera...although I wish I did, cause we went on a gov't sponsored flight seeing trip cause our air drops were cancelled.  Smiley

I have to go get a digital camera from a friend.  And on Tuesday when I feel like putting the uniform back on I'll take some pictures while I'm preflighting.

BTW, anyone interested in doing one of our Aircrafts repaints?

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0872493/M/

Instead of that black strip on the Vert Stab, it is filled with yellow and in Navy Blue "The Last Frontier" is spelled out.

I'll upload some more picts if anyone is interested in doing a repaint  Smiley  If someone does, that is going to be like the only plane I EVER fly, no kidding.

We're you guys crusing around out here near Palmer? If so, or if it was one of you guys, I think I've got some video of steep turns and such.  Wink

That might have been us, we first flew out to Cordova from PANC, a couple sail boats got real good looks at us if you know what I mean.  Wink  Then we went North thru the mtns to Chitina, the west to Gulkana, then we overflew Palmer around 630-640ish pm.  Then to PAED for a T/G then back to PANC.  All in all, it was a awesome low level, and wish we could do it more.  If you think it was us, upload the vids or a pic and I'll let ya know.  Hope we were to loud for ya, our concern was we were gonna get reported for noise.

Advice....Please...

If I jump out of the "Cockpit" to the outside "Chase View"...I get "blurries" where I made changes....
If go "2D to V/C to Tower to Chase..." well they settle down?

What did I do wrong?
And do you think that the "Blue Stripe" would be there? Or would it be "Gray with the black trim and letters"?
And I would gues the "Tail Code"?

Check to see if you have mulitple mit maps. Thats the main cause. The other occasions its just FS9 being a pig. If you zoom in as far as you can, then zoom back out it goes. I get this on my C-130 and the 757.

In the pictures in airliners.net they are blue. Looks nice as is.
Great work.

Forgot to mention Cody. It's best to stay away from pure white and black clours as well. FS seems to have issues with the pure colours. All I do is take it back a notch. Not noticable by the eye but it works better.

Uncheck the mit maps option and it will save without mit maps. You wont loose anything. This should cure your problem.

Hi Cody,

The repaint looks awesome, man!  If you need a second opinion I would be glad to take a look.

Dax,

Really enjoying the Navy repaint you did for me.  I have been doing some short field work with it, including some random steep approaches, which I have seen them do on occasion.  The trick is to get the timing just right so that you hit the runway and not some farmers field, causing his sheep to run in various chaotic directions, and causing the CO no end of fits, gnashing of teeth and ringing of hands. Grin

Please keep up the great work, guys!
