ACE seems to not work right

Why is it when I try to make changes in the C-130 ACE, that it does not save the changes?  I went to the C-130T (Fat Albert) and selected the JATO effect and for the C-130E and J models the engine smoke effect.  Then when I start up the FS 2004, the JATO works fine with the C-130T, but it also works on the other models.  I clearly selected the engine smoke for them.  Then, if I do the opposite and select the engine smoke effect first, then I do not get the JATO effect on the C-130T but instead I get the engine smoke.  It seems what ever effect I select first, that is the one that works on all 3 of my models.  I am clicking on the save tab for each additional model, so what is going on?  I hope someone can explain it to me or is there an issue with the ACE?  Thanks a lot.

Jason

FS limitation.

All of the C-130 models are controlled by one aircraft.cfg which means they ALL will have the same effects, and they ALL will have the same payload, even if you saved a different payload for each.  Whatever is currently checked SHOULD be what is written to the CFG, so double check that.

If you have JATO effect on all C-130 models, please cycle the view to 2D panel and back.
The issue is one the list for SP, and is forwarded to our development team.

I just bought the legendary c130 pro package.  Why is it the ace doesn't save my selection like for example, the payload, put hummer in there and when I go to fs9, it's not there.  Am I doing something wrong?  It is updated to sp1.  Pls. help...having the same problems also with the fuels saying fuel is low even  though it is full and the shift+e+no. keys not functioning...thanks

Hi Mad.
The cargo config is just a representation of what can be loaded. This then writes to the aircraft.cfg file and the aircraft flight model behaves as though it is carrying the weight and the distribution of the cargo.
The fuel low warning is another problem that some people seem to have and the CS team have given a solution here

Hope this helps.

Dax,

Does that mean the animation for hummer can not be done?  I know it is one of the videos posted.  Thanks for your help.  I really appreciate it.

Hi,

The Hummer can still be seen reversing out of the cargo bay.  Look at the sim' control panel while you're in external view.  On the second row up from the bottom, last button to the right, you'll see the 'Ground Vehicle Animation' key (image of a Hummer with arrows above it).  Make sure the ramp tracks are extended as well, as I'm pretty sure the Hummer won't move without these in place.  You'll find a button for these on the third row from bottom, in the middle.

Unfortunately, the cargo you select in ACE doesn't show up inside the bay, as another poster explained. But when you get the ramps open on the ground, extend those tracks and click the animation button, the Hummer magically appears inside - then backs out ( goes back in again, too, if you press the button again).

Hope this gets it working for you - it's a great effect (makes me laugh every time I see it)  Smiley

Andy
