Emergency Escape Hatch: Not Opening

Keystrokes to operate Emergency Hatch given as "Shift+E then 3".  This combination does not work.  Forward Door opens as soon as you press Shift+E - pressing 3 afterwards has no effect.   Huh

(Side effect: Can't open hatch = can't raise the flag!  Embarrassed

You are the only person reporting this problem. Just make sure that you press "Shift+E" THEN 3 quickly.  Try some times to accomodate.

i have had this problem, but i find it is dependant on the amount of scenery detail, more detail means less likly to work,if this happens, then i go to vc,and turn the view to the emrg hatch, and click on it to open it.
then when i wish to close it,i use vc mode to look on the floor, and click on the emg hatch lying there, and it closes.

Thanks, Alan.  You're right.  I can open it now via the VC.  But how do I close it again (some people are never satisfied, eh?)?  Roll Eyes  It's just that I don't have that roving camera software - yet - and my fixed view of the VC doesn't include the floor hatch you mentioned.

How do you raise the flags after you open the emergency hatch?

i dont have active camera either,i just use the basic ms eyepoint controls to move about the flight deck.if you use the hat sw to look aft, then down onto the p1 seat, then use eyepoint back control until you can see the steps of the entry door,on your right, the hatch is then at the 10 oclock pos, click on it to close the emg hatch, then use spacebar to reset the eyepoint, the keys i have asigned to the eyepoint movement are as follows,A=BACK/B=FWD/Z=LEFT/H=RIGHT.
hope this helps you.

the shift+e then 3 combo doesnt work for me either, only way i can raise the flag is by using the VC adn wing fold key ,... but i dislike the VC (not because it doesnt look good, youd swear it was a photo it looks so freakin sweet) but because my lousy AMD Athlon 2800 w X850 Pro and gig of ram cant handle it all too well, unless i turn everything as far as visuals go to nothing (but that still lies the guage refresh rate due to FS limitations that i dont like Sad

so raising the flag is something i cant enjoy ... yet Sad

I find Shift E + exit a pain to use so mapped Exit to the X key. X+3 is much easier to use.
Personally I think when too much is chugging memory the key presses get read wrong by MSFS.

We also find that the sequence E+1,2,3,4 is working very instable in MSFS. http://www.captainsim.com/cgi-bin/kb.pl?qid=377
