Just a quick shot of my next repaint. It's of the 2nd paint scheme worn by RAF C130K's. It looks a bit faded. WHen I stared to work on Herc's as a young lad they were all in a sorry state of paint work.
Should be available by 19th Dec.
After this I'll do a few variations of this paint scheme.

1. Rough Strip prep. (Rubber matting applied to under belly.
2. Food Aid scheme. (Large Red Cross emblem applied to the side of the aircraft).
3. and if I can get it done a special decal we applied to one aircraft when I was at the Falklands for the Christmas period)

2nd version of this repaint has been uploaded to AVSIM. Should be available soon.

This particual scheme was used during Operation Bushel.
FAMINE RELIEF OPERATIONS OP BUSHEL - 1984. In November 1984, when the public were witnessing the start of Band Aide lead by Sir Bob Geldoff, LXX Squadron crews were leading the biggest famine relief operation ever conducted by the RAF, as part of Operation BUSHEL in Ethiopia, many of the dropping zones being over 7000 ft AMSL
(above mean sea level).

The 3rd version is now available at AVSIM. The aircraft is now in "Rough Strip Prep". Rubber matting is applied to the underside of the aircraft to help protect it against debris damage during landings at unprepaired landing strips.

My latest repaint is now available for download through AVSIM.
RAF C130 Operation Granby

It is a desert pink paint scheme that was applied to several aircraft during Op Gramby. The liberation of Kuwait.

Please feel free to comment or criticize by email or post it here.

Thanks

My latest remake of my first repaints is now available at AVSIM to download.
This is the remake of my Op Bushel repaint. The improvements are listed in the Read Me file in the Zip.
I have also made this an "E" model C-130. At hte time of Op Bushel the RAF had not fitted refuel probes.

Please email or post any comments regarding my repaints.

Thanks

The new "bushel" is superb! What really makes it for me is attention to a lot of small details that you might not miss were they absent - but these details certainly make this model 'real' now that they are there. Splendid effort Dax - thank you!

By the way, the "bushel" model led me to do some research on Operation Bushel so I can construct some "missions" for the virtual pilots association I belong to - recreating the relief efforts conducted by the British in Ethiopia.
Using the Dax repaint, of course.  Wink
