VC Transition anomaly

Print Post
When transitioning from the cockpit to the VC mode my windscreen is temporarily totally obscured by an unidentifiable reflection. This lasts for approximately 3 seconds after which a normal forward view through the windscreen returns. I find the annoyance a little disconcerting when making my final descent. Incidentally, this phenomena has been persistent in both versions 1.0 and 1.1. This a very low priority anomaly--- Ziggy

You can get rid of that by disabling window reflections on the ACE. Smiley

Or, of course, by upgrading the hardware! Wink

Snave, I just reviewed your post and I really don't think I have a hardware problem, but you've got my attention. System specs follows: Dell XPS notebook, Windows XP (home edition), CPU Pentium4 3.4GHz w/HT, RAM 1 GB, Graphics ATI Mobility Radeon 9800 256 Mb, HD 180 GB @7200 RPM, Display 1920x1200, FS 9 program with add-ons totals 11.4 GB. This meets and/or exceeds the Herk's recommended hardware criteria. One caveat, I have FS9 loaded on an external HD which has a USB 2.0 computer connection. To date I've gotten my best results with my graphic's card at the default settings and my game settings pretty much maxed out accoss the board. Please advise, thanks--- Ziggy  Smiley

Hi, I just wanted to report that I've been experiencing the same problem, I believe.  Sometimes--not always--when I switch from 2d to vc the entire windscreen fills with objects, which look like external textures from the aircraft randomly jumbled together.  It's not the kind of graphical corruption one associates with an overheated video card; indeed, my x850xt is running at 58 deg. celsius tops, and moreover only the windscreen area is affected.  The rest of the vc panel and interior remain stable.

It also seems to occur sometimes when switching from vc to tower view (cycling forward).
