Title: CS 757 Cabin windows Post by Patricio on Dec 23rd, 2022 at 7:30pm
I found the CS757 cabin windows open and close but no sound. Is there a way to add it?

Found with CS757 on airborne cruise the cabin windows can be opened. It shouldn't. It should lock automatically.

By cabin, you mean cockpit? The cockpit windows can't be opened in the air as far as I can remember, CS did model this correctly. |

Yep Cockpit view, 2 questions about the window from both sides Pilot and CoPilot. Windows while opening or closing I don't hear sound. How to increase the volume? Also, on cruise airborne I can open windows. They are not locked as it should. Pat |

I found the file window.wav is present but I don't hear the windows sliding with P3Dv4. I can hear the windows sliding sound from FSX sim. It has to be a way to get sound from P3D.

The window.wav file is shown in D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Captain_Sim\757-III\sound folder

I hear the sounds of the windows openning, and closing, in P3Dv4, so you should too. I can even hear the sound over the sound of the External Power.
But if you want to increase the volume, then you need to edit the sound.ini file, found in the P3Dv4\Captain_Sim\757-III folder. Edit this section/line: [Sound.459] ;L13_001 File=window.wav Id=2213001 Volume=0.10 I assume the number has to be between 1.00 and 0.01, so the current settin is at about 10% of maximum volume. Note. When I changed Volume=0.10 to Volume=0.90 it sounded a lot louder to me. |

Perfect! thanks for that, good find. Now how to deal with on airborne cruise the cabin windows can be opened. They shouldn't open. Any thoughts? Pat |

Don't mouse click the places that make the window open/close would be my suggestion. Although they can be opened after takeoff, I never open them. Well very very rarely, and if so, by accident. |

Sorry, that's not correct solution (LOL). The cockpit cabin window should be locked right after takeoff, by design. The plane should be updated correcting such. Pat |

The CS767 has the same thing. Maybe it is an easy fix but only the Developer knows. Pat |

I knew I wasn't crazy... I just did a test and the windows did open on the ground, but as soon as I was at a certain cabin pressure differential they did lock. Maybe it's a little delayed as opposed to real life, but it is modelled where it will not open at a certain ∆P. In real life, the cockpit windows could be opened if the differential is low enough (perhaps within 30 seconds after liftoff?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg169HnNGHo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg169HnNGHo |

I flew again with CS757 and at 8000 ft ALT the pilot and co-pilot window opened, and the bird didn't shake at all. Again, windows should be locked after take-off by design. Same for the CS-767 model. I think it can be fixed via Aircraft.cfg file but I don't know to do.
