Any ideas why I can't put E in on the default INS?

Lat enters fine.

Can you please give us an example of what co-ordinates you are trying to put in and step by step?

After entering the N or S coordinates, press the INSERT button, then enter the E or W coordinates, then press the INSERT button again.
If you don't press the INSERT button after entering the N or S coordinates, then you can't enter the E or W coordinates.
