Title: FS2020 Will not start after 764 install Post by alexbitcoin on Dec 11th, 2021 at 1:43pm
I've tried launching multiple times no success... I uninstalled, works fine again. Re-installed using Admin priviledges, no change.
Sometimes it gets frozen on the first loading screen but if reboot the game, it makes it past the main menu and then gets frozen on the flight loading screen and flight never starts. |

I also have the exact same problem too.

Did you update GPU driver lately (NVIDIA to be specific)? The last update crashes MS2020 when you select FLY. It will just load for a while and then crash. If you re-start your sim to SAFE MODE and it ran ok. Something you must have added to your community folder that didn't liked it.

I rebuilt my community folder, by reinstalling MSFS. Also downloaded an older version of the Nvidia driver, but still the same issue

All my drivers are always up to date. I use GeForce experience and it does this automatically (and yes, I double checked). So there is ZERO chance it is THAT, considering the game was working perfectly BEFORE the 764 install and continued working perfectly AFTER the un-install of the 764. |

Last update of Nvidia driver is causing crash of MSFS, that´s known issue. As second: 764 is working fine without crash only after modify of model file and engine file (partly tranfered from mod for 777) . Without those changes is crashing plane or MSFS..sadly.

SOLUTION: I went through all the files in the 767 directory. I found one file with incorrect paths. Find the following file...
Q:\FS packages\Community\captainsim-aircraft-m764\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture.CS.2021 Change [fltsim] fallback.1=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture //general, general 200ER fallback.2=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\night //general night fallback.3=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\spec //general spec fallback.4=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\bump //general bump TO: [fltsim] fallback.1=..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture //general, general 200ER fallback.2=..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\night //general night fallback.3=..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\spec //general spec fallback.4=..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\bump //general bump |

That's strange because this is mine: [fltsim] fallback.1=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture //general, general 200ER fallback.2=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\night //general night fallback.3=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\spec //general spec fallback.4=..\..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture\bump //general bump and it works fine. Interestinly enough, I tested using your solution, fallback.1=..\CS_B767-400ER_CF6\texture etc, and also fallback.1=..\texture etc., and they both worked as well, so I can't see why the original wasn't working for you. :-/ |

This method still did not work for me...
