Title: 707 in FSX on Windows 10 not working
Post by guy on Nov 4th, 2021 at 8:54pm
Hello all,

I installed the 707 in FSX on my new system with Windows 10 (64).
Plane seems fine except  that there is no gear. Cockpit seems visually ok but nothing (buttons) works.
Flight controls do also not work (neither joystick nor keyboard)
I uninstalled and reinstalled (with defender off) 2 times with the same result.
So does the 707 not work under Windows 10 or what can i do ?
thanks in advance

Thanks for the answer.
Yes I have read all that and made several re-installs already with no positive result.
I used the 707 (and 727) for a long time under Vista and Windows7.
As I am more an occasional simmer I never took the time to switch to P3D (I also didn't want to have pay again for the planes I had already).

What I would like to know is if there is anybody who has the CS707 working correctly  in FSX under Windows 10 ?
Thanks in advance.

I have FSX SE, W10 and the 707 works perfectly.

Please review carefully the installation instructions and the link indicated above. Sometimes it´s easy to skip a step.

Good luck!

Thanks for the infromation
Afaik FSX-SE is different from FSX (Some say it's better).
Apparently things that don't work in FSX sometimes work in FSX-SE.
I have basic FSX-SP2.
I think i did the installation correctly and didn't miss any steps.

So i would still be interested to now if there are people who have the CS707 correctly running in basic FSX under Windows 10.
Thanks in advance.

The 707 works fine in FSX, and FSX-SE, in Windows 10 for me, on my PC.
However, I copied all the files from FSX to FSX-SE, rather than installing it in FSX-SE, because once it's installed, the only options I get when running the installer, is Repair, or Uninstall.
On my laptop, it also runs fine, and it was installed directly into FSX-SE because I don't have FSX installed on it.

Thanks again for the answer and information.
But your message is not 100% clear to me. You say you transfered the files between FSX and FSX-SE and it works ok. I am in fact only interested in Basic FSX.
You also say you have it also working correctly in in Basic FSX under W10. Is that right ?
My question is then how you got the CS707 into  that basic FSX in W10?
Did you INSTALL the Cs707 in FSX basic in WIndows 10 using the normal install procedure?
(Or maybe you had it installed and working under W7 and then simply replaced W7 by W8/10 ? Or you also transfered the 707 files into W10 from the old W7/8 system ?)
Thanks in advance.

The 707 works now in my FSX-Sp2 under W10 !!! :)
Had the ingenious idea to turn the Defender off before reinstalling. That helped.
The gear is there, the instruments are working and it flies !
Thanks again to all those who tried to help!

Sorry. I guess I misunderstood your problem due to the stastement: Afaik FSX-SE is different from FSX (Some say it's better). It's true that FSX-SE is better than FSX, because Dovetail Games released a few updates to improve FSX-SE.
Anyway. At least you've now got the 707 Captain working in FSX. :)
