the ace app that came with my 777 was not working and i found a topic the forum to download a new ace app an delete the old but now whenever i try to download or do anything with ace it just says "object reference not set to an instance of an object"  How do i fix that?

I cant get the ace to run suddenly and it has been fine, now its saying it cannot find my MSFS2020 official folder?

So your 200 ace works, but the 300 doesnt, it says cannot find the official folder, but the 200 one does?

and no sorry, take that back too now, v1 of the 777-200 ace works, but after update it no longer finds my official folder neither!

And heres what happened after reinstalling back to v1 for the 200 after uninstalling, updated to 1.08 or whatever it is i now get the same issue, so why did it work for v1 but when updating after getting the -300 i get the same never before issue?

Please reinstall the -200, then do NOT update it but try ACE.

Ive already done this, and ace works, then when i reinstall, i get the same error as said above where it no longer sees my official folder

To make things clearer.

200 Fully installed and updated, works fine, ace works etc can update...

bought 300 version and installed,

opened ace on 300 version not working from first install.

opened 200 version not working either.

uninstalled 300

opened 200 version - still not working

uninstalled 200 version

reinstalled to v1

opened ace works

update 200 version to latest - broken ace doesnt work as per picture above

install 300 version alone as v1 - doesnt work as per picture above

any fix?

Exactly the same, i saw the manual button and tried that way too, i reinstalled just the 200 earlier after uninstalling both.

200 ace works, but i dare not update as when i do that one also becomes unusable.

i also stand alone installed the 300, and straight away it doesnt work, its not like the 200 version ace which works til i update the aircraft.

let me know how to make a video and i will do, i also just searched and deleted everything to do with captainsim including all addon liveries the lot, fully uninstalled, re downloaded from the website, entered my serial number again because it asked for it, opened up ace and same result not working, i then clicked manual selected the folder thats flashing red to what to select depending on what version and it just bounces back and flashes red again

You have instantly solved the issue! i renamed the sound to sound1 due to using actual 777 sounds instead of 747 sounds from ftsim. so obviously your ace looks for this file as its a 747 issue not a 777 issue.

thanks for the help, i wish you guys would solely 777 this thing so it didnt rely on 747 garbage which is nothing like a 777 in real life.

ACE 200 works with the -200 only.
ACE 300 works with the -300 only.

forget that post, you guys need to make it so if i open 300 ace it starts on the ge115b variation not the 90b. i see where i was going wrong now, but as a normal user if i open the 300 ace i expect to only be looking at 300 liveries, otherwise whats the point if people have both of two different ace files?

Ok I'm having the same issue with ACE not working for the 777-3, I've uninstalled 4 times and I made sure to deactivate my AV & WIN DEF but to no avail. Also my AV popped up when opening ACE see attached. I'm also getting the following message about the ace_777.exe  "This short cut refers to has been changed or moved so the short cut will no longer work properly" my path is the following:

C:\Users\bankh\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

Please advise?

It looks like your AV has deleted the file. Check in your AV's virus chest/vault, restore the file, then add the file to the AV's exclusion list so it doesn't happen again.
