It should be, as long as engine generator is not powering related bus, it's lit up

Are U sure?I don`t find any logic like that in FCOM.The engine not start and the Gen blue light will still lit up even the engine Gen don`t have power output at all?

You must not see what the blue light says it says "GEN OFF BUS" it is always lit when the generator is unpowered.

What? No!By the FCOM,GEN BUS OFF light mean the GEN is generating power, but not connect to BUS,so is “off BUS”,not GEN OFF BUS,the light will lit up when engine achieve 95% idle speed.Where did you get the GEN OFF BUS mean the generator is unpowered? >:(

I'm sure that's for APU, not ENG GEN.

The engine and APU generator OFF BUS lights illuminate when the respective generator is running and of the correct quality.
This mean the eng bus off light only with lit up in the situation when engine gen WORKING. This is from http://www.b737.org.uk/electrics.htm.And your picture describe is right too,the light lit up because the Gen not connect to the BUS,but it not mean THE GEN NOT WORKING!!!! >:(

And in the video, you may seen like the GEN BUS OFF light is lit up,But no,in fact is the Yellow “BUS OFF”light and Tran bus off light are lighting, making it look like the“GEN BUS OFF” blue light is on.You can see in this video. The 737CL(-400)Cold and dark start, after begin start the APU,you have a clear view too see the GEN BUS OFF blue light.
