Title: wing modelling.
Post by husky on Apr 4th, 2021 at 12:11pm
great stuff picking up the classics series of the b737.
waiting for  a good b737 classics after quality wings stopt theres.

plz dont take the below as critizme just trying to point out some improvments.
i dont now if there is any changes between the early b737s

- but the after wings fairing seems a bit of.

i dont now if it is posibly in this stage to addept the modelling or there are still things to come in later models.

the following things caught my attention the outer leading edge slat and wing design are modeld as the 200 series.
the 300/400 series hav some aero dynamic adjusments.

-the spoilers seems to be a bit short .
-the upper flaps slot is wider and the slat drop further downwards
-and the after egine pylon is sleaker its seams bulged a bit.

maybe this is modelt in later version.
if any of the above needs some pictures to show what i meen let me know

+1 on this one.

Lovely aeroplane, but although being in BETA, it lacks details. Wings look like -200 variant!

I agree the wing seems rather small and same goes for spoilers. I also had to add that the little boards (of the flaps) don’t kinda ‘disconnect’ from the main flaps, but instead just goes down with the flaps. Also the aileron has a little aileron within it and hope to also see it animated like in real life (moves opposite direction of main aileron) I understand this is beta so maybe none of it is properly modelled and coded yet, but those some of my tips.

This little aileron is called: This little aileron is called: aileron balance tab

This wing topic should be moved to bug list Captainsim! And has to be fixed!
The wing you got now is clearly a re-use from 737-200.
737-300 wing is all different!

They are different but very slightly. In fact the 737-200 wing is bigger than the 737-300 wing which doesn't make sense. I just compared them and the -200 is a little bit bigger than the -300. The -300 wingspan is about a foot longer than the -200 which isn't a lot but not only copying the -200 wing for the most part but making the -300 wing smaller than the -200 is bizarre.

I should say Stian is the reason I noticed that wing problem. I checked when they mentioned the wing was a copy.

I also misspoke when I said the 300 wing is about a foot longer than the 200. The 300 is a little under 2ft wider. 1.9ft to be exact.

Am I the only one who noticed this? If you guys did copy the -200 wing for the most part did you consciously scale the wing down? I don't see how that's possible. To be fair the wing does look different like there were some significant changes but messing up the scaling that bad is a little weird. They're both made by CaptainSim which means you guys have the files of both so logically it'd be weird to mess it up. Don't mean to sound accusatory but its true.

Yes, I really hope that model was not final. When you compare with the CS 767 for exemple, thats a HUGE difference. In all areas of the model. Definetly a lot of B737-200 was used here, but that product is already pretty old!

The B733 has now come out of BETA and we're all still waiting on the wing views of the cabin...

Common CS, please attend!

Surely I still can't be the only one shocked this isn't a thing yet in the 737-300 and now the -500?

Please, please, please CS bring this to the aircraft!

CS have to fix the mirror modeling of the underside of the wings for independent mapping for each wing, so you can point different registrations below (like in Brazil, where the registration is "PP-XYZ" and you have "PP- " under the right wing and the "XYZ" under the left wing).

Just wondered if there was any progress with wing views in the cabin yet? Its weird seeing a nav and strobe light not attached to anything.

I almost regret my old 737-200 with fsx  :'( : the view from cabin windows was so realistic then so nice !
Please captain keep the wings even when we are in the cabin !
Thanks !
