Title: DONE - Ground roll n1
Post by banny on Apr 3rd, 2021 at 12:12pm
When I want to start rolling on the ground I need at least 40% N1 and 36% N1 to keep the aircraft moving, even when the aircraft is empty. I guess the real 733 just needs around 30% N1 to start moving.
Thanks

Yes, agree - the speed on the ground decreases very quickly when throttles are returned to idle. The plane at heavy weights should require some breakaway thrust to start moving, but should keep moving on idle/just above idle. Ground rolling resistance is too much.

This is in an issue with every single Captain Sim plane, but they claim that real pilots say this is how it is. I'm a real pilot. It's not. Ground resistance is way too high, and is the sole reason I will not invest in the  767 and  737.

Unless using a costume ground friction model, the P3D's default one just couldn't get right
But that's no excuse, Most add-ons within same price range have already done that.

If this ground friction update comes to the 757, 767, L-1011, and the 737-200/300, the 767 and -300 will be an immediate purchase for me.

Have you tried 0301 update?

I have not yet purchased the 737 classic, but I am extremely encouraged that this is being looked into. I just have witnessed this sluggish ground roll in my L-1011, 757, and 737-200, and was not willing to spend more money to have the same on the -300. Given that this is finally getting attention, I may pick it up over the weekend. I'm hoping that this fix will find it's way into the rest of my fleet in the near future.

Sorry, misunderstood
In the 0301 it should be:
- if the aircraft  is empty, it will start rolling even on idle and keep moving.
- if fully loaded - about 35% N1 will need to start rolling and keep the aircraft moving

We need confirmation from the topic starters

The aircraft exactly performs as mentioned by you after updating to .301, thank you.

Can confirm that the Update .301 fixed this problem!
