Where are the switches or switch for the passenger lighting?

Markoz,

I conducted first night testing of Captain Sim 707 and discovered that there is no night passenger window light.  I have all headlights on wings and wheels as well as headlight glow on both sides of the body of 707 plus all functioning beacons. But still no night passenger window light for all Captain Sim repaints.

The famous button command shift-l does not do trick for me.

Also, I discovered that there is no night logo tail light for tail too.

What can I do to fix this please?

Regards,

Aharon

SHIFT+L turns the passenger cabin lights on for me.
As far as I know, there is no LOGO light switch.

Which Captain Sim repaint did you use for your successful button command shift-l and were you using FSX or FS9 version of Captain Sim 707?

I'm only using FSX-SE at  the moment, and it works in all the default liveries. I  don't have any 3rd Party liveries added.

Thanks for answer   Maybe it works for Steam and not for FSX since you are using FSX-Steam version of Captain Sim 707 and I am using regular FSX version of the plane??

Aharon

Due to a  failure of my Thermaltake 750 watt power supply, that killed my 4TB HDD, I bought a 550 watt power supply, which is not powerful enough to run my PC with the Blue-Ray RW. Because of that, I haven't reinstallled FSX/Acceleration (FSX Gold). I  know the cabin lights worked in FSX/Acceleration, and if there is anything not going to work with the 707, from my experience, it will definitely be in FSX-SE.

Ok thanks for answer.

Strange that my night passenger window light would not work.  I guess it is due to Windows 10 operating system.

Very strange considering that all different kinds of night lights in 707 work well EXCEPT night passenger window light.  Maybe I am supposed to activate battery or AC/DC power for passenger sections??  I think I did it but might have missed more buttons for that.

Aharon

Sory, but it's not Windows, because that's what I use my PC and Gaming Laptop, and I'm seeing the lights in the pax cabin. You can barely see it during the day, so it's better to check it at night time (see attached image).

That is what I did and was not getting night passenger window light. Strange.  It is okay  I will survive.

Just a quick question, Mark, in you FSX-SE settings, what is shift+L assigned to?
Aharon, what is it assigned to in your FSX settings?

Cheers,
Nathan

for all lights such as headlights, all beacons, all headlights on wings and wheels, night logo tail light, and of course night passenger window light.

My best guess is that I must have missed any cockpit button or switch for battery OR light for passenger cabins. I think I turned on all kinds of batteries on cockpit panel but I might have missed a switch for night passenger window light if there is any.

Aharon

Seeing as I mostly used FSX/Acceleration, and not FSX-SE (until  my power supply died and took out my 4TB HDD), I know the setting was the same in both:
SHIFT+L for Panel lights (on/off). FSX-SE setting shown in attached image.

I will return to mostly using FSX/Acceleration once I get a new power supply that will give me the wattage I need to be able to use my BluRay-RW again, and I can then reinstall it.

Looks like that may be the problem, Mark has shift+L set to “Panel Lights” where as Aharon, you have it set to all lights. Maybe check to see what shortcut you have for “Panel lights” and try that  :D

Fingers crossed

DOH  DOH DOH DOH DOH

I use letter l for for all lights such as headlights, all beacons, all headlights on wings and wheels, night logo tail light, and of course night passenger window light BUT BUT BUT  I never try shift-l in my FSX.

Got to go back to Captain Sim 707 and see if my FIRST TIME use of shift-l instead of letter l will make night passenger window light go on!!

DOH DOH DOH   :o :o :o :o I thought both of you are talking about pressing letter l for lights not realizing I am supposed to use SHIFT-l.

Will let both know if using shift-l instead of letter l will work.

Special thanks to Markoz for showing me his chart to make me realize there is DIFFERENCE between pressing letter l and pressing shift-l.  Did not even know shift-l exists in FSX for panel lights!!!

And thanks to famous Nathan for pointing out to me DIFFERENCE

Regards,

Aharon

As far as I know, Shift + L is the default setting for panel lights, and not something I did for myself.

I think you will find that it does work. Maybe in my first reply I should have put Shift +L in bold letters, so it stood out better for you. ;) ;D

Not yet   I have NOT yet tested it using shift-l although I do hope you and Markoz pointing out HUGE difference in keyboard button between letter l button command and shift-l button command will work for night passenger window light!!

Why Captain Sim picks shift-l instead of common use letter l for night window lights is beyond comprehension. I am guessing it has something to do with programming codes beyond control of Captain Sim for 707.

Will let both of you know if it works.

And many more thanks to both of you Nathan and Markoz for pointing out to me HUGE difference in keyboard button command especially graphical presentation by Markoz that makes me realizing that Captain Sim does not use common letter l button command for night lights

Aharon

Markoz,

I finally got chance to test your shift-l theory and I regret that it does not work for night passenger window light. All the shift-l does for Captain Sim 707 is to give light to cockpit panel and engineer panel but not to passenger windows.

Aharon

It doesn't make any sense that when I press Shift+L, I get the Passenger Cabin lights, as well as the panel lights you described in the cockpit, yet you don't get the Passenger Cabin lights ON.
Other than what I already suggested to fix the issue, I really don't know what else you could do. :(

That is okay    Each computer is different and has its own personality     hahhahahaha  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

The only theory I have is I must have missed any switch or button for electric or battery power needed for passenger cabin night window lights.

Aharon

Yes, that  they certainly do seem to have.

I don't think so because from a cold and dark setting, I can turn on only the Battery Switch, and the passenger cabin lights can be turned on, and off. :(

Strange   let me go back to drawing board and try to figure out why night passenger window light would not go on during nights

What about aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg??  Could there be an error in that? Which sentence in aircraft.cfg or panel.cfg is responsible for night passenger window light?

Aharon

If there are any lines in the aircraft.cfg for the passenger cabin lights, I would think it could be these in  the [lights] section:

light.7 = 10, 55.00,   0.00,  6.30, cs707_vclightred
light.8 = 10, 52.46,  -0.30,  7.54, cs707_vclightred

Because according to the FSX SDK, the number 10 is for Cabin lights, but the cabin lights are not red. However there is a red dome light in the cockpit.

Thanks for valuable answer.  I am going to check to see if they exist in correct manner in the aircraft.cfg.
