Title: Request Permission To Modify CFG To Solve Bouncing
Post by Aharon on Mar 5th, 2021 at 9:20pm
Shalom and greetings CS tech support,

My Captain Sim 707 and 707C for FSX has annoying bouncing problem as if the planes think they are bunnies making few hops during parked location at the gates

The common solution to solve bouncing problem of any plane in FSX is to modify aircraft.cfg by changing the values of the wing_incidence, htail_incidence, and aileron_incidence to "0" value.

So may I have your permission to do this and will this modification to aircraft.cfg cause any problems to Captain Sim 707 and will it invalid warranty and lifetime support guarantee of Captain Sim product?

Thanks,

Aharon

You can modify the aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg if you want, I have done it to almost all my Captain Sim aircraft (like adding a GPS panel (panel.cfg), or changing things within the [CameraDef] settings (aircraft.cfg)). ;)

Markoz,

Yeah I have confession for you.  I already modified panel.cfg by adding FSX default GPS to the 707 package without permission because it does NOT NOT in any way affect flying dynamics of 707s.

However, if I decide to do the common solution to solve bouncing problem of any plane in FSX by modifying aircraft.cfg by changing the values of the wing_incidence, htail_incidence, and aileron_incidence to "0" value in the Captain Sim 707 package,  will this modification to aircraft.cfg cause any problems to flying dynamics and performances of Captain Sim 707?

Thanks,

Aharon

I too added the default FSX GPS to the panel.cfg, but I aso changed either the position a particular 2D panel appears, or just changed its size.

I don't know really know how much changing the wing_incidence, htail_incidence, and aileron_incidence to "0" value in the Captain Sim 707 package will affect it. I don't have the bouncing issue, so the changes I make to the 707, are normally only in the [CameraDefinition.Xxx] entries, and nothing else.

Okay  thanks Markoz

It will not hurt me if I decide to change the values considering the fact if it affects flying dynamics of CS 707, I can go back to original values anyway.

I did more ground testings of CS 707 and used very proper professional procedures of starting engines and I have no problem starting engines 2, 3, and 4 on FIRST TRY.

Starting engine 1 is more tricky and problematic. It never starts on first try and it always takes me THIRD or FOURTH try to get engine 1 started and running.

Any advice or tip or suggestion would be appreciated for starting engine 1 on FIRST try like other three engines instead of third or fourth try.

Regards,

Aharon

I can't understand why engine 1 is so hard to start. It starts first time, every time for me. In fact all engines start first time, every time for me. :-/

I just did an engine start in FSX-SE, and engine 1 didn't start on the first attempt, it started on the second. After restarting FSX-SE, with the 707, I put the Engine Start Levers in the IDLE position, then started the engines, and engine 1 started on the first attempt (so did engines 2, 3, and 4).

Each computer is different and has its own personality  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Will let you know how my first maiden flight abroad CS 707 goes. I just finished downloading and installing liveries although I must admit I am surprised not to see El Al repaints for CS 707 series.

Aharon
