Title: GPS navigation and engine cowl flaps
Post by Alexander on Feb 9th, 2021 at 3:29pm
Hello =),
I have two questions regarding flight plans and engine cowl flaps...
How do I make the aircraft follow the GPS flight plan and how can I open the engine cowling flaps...
Couldn't figure it out yet...

Thanks a lot  :) :D

How to fly a GPS flight plan - ‘B-52 Driver’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part II – Aircraft and Systems (csb521_manual2.pdf) page 47:

1. Nav Mode Selector Switch

Nav mode select switch marked "Mode Select" is located on the navigation system select panel. The rotary  switch has TACAN-VOR-ILS-ILS APP positions.

In TACAN position, the bank steering bar will respond to the MSFS flight plan (if loaded). (Ctrl+Shift+N should be assigned)

• In VOR position, the omnirange radio navigation system is selected and NAV1 may be placed inoperation.  The bank steering bar will respond to NAV1. (Ctrl+N)

• In ILS positions, the instrument landing system mode of navigation is selected.  The bank steeringbar will respond to ILS localizer. If Autopilot is engaged, ILS position allows the lateral controls ofthe autopilot to be controlled by the localizer beam after it has been intercepted. (Ctrl+0)

• In  ILS APP  positions, the instrument landing system mode of navigation is selected. The banksteering bar will respond to ILS localizer. The pitch steering bar will will respond to ILS glideslope. IfAutopilot is engaged, ILS APP position allows the lateral and pitch controls of the autopilot to becontrolled by the localizer and glide slope beams after they have been intercepted. (Ctrl+A)Note: Nav Mode Selector Switch is active only if Heading Selector Switch in NOR position.

As for cowl flaps, I don't think there are any, or they are not simulated.

Note. I have Ctrl+Shift+N assigned to Nav 1/GPS (toggle), and I'm not sure if this is actually what Captain Sim mean here.
