Title: 757 remote CDU
Post by HansK on Nov 16th, 2020 at 2:08pm
I can't get the remote CDU to connect with the CDU in the aircraft. On the service page the IP is 192.168.192.45 but in the addons it is 172.22.32.1. When I change it it still does not connect. What am I doing wrong?

Mine uses 192:168:0:13 (my Local Area Network), which is correct since my device is hooked into the LAN through Wi-Fi, not the router IP  (203:xxx:xxx:xxx) which is the internet (Wide Area Network).

Start Menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Status (it should already be showing by default) > Click on Properties > scroll down until you see the details  (see attached image).

The IPv4 address is my PC's IP address on the LAN, and that is used for the 757 Connect for use with the 757 III in FSX/FSXSE/P3D3/P3D4/P3D5, and it works fine for me.

The IPv4 address is correct. See the image. But it does not connect. After a while the exec button lights up and when I press it the status becomes connecting again. I don't know how to do it manually.

Is Bonjour installed? It's supposed to install as a part of installing 757 Connect.

You could try a reinstall (Update or Repair) as per https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1554738484

Bonjour was installed. I'll try a complete re-install.

After a complete reinstall nothing has changed. What is the meaning of the IP address in the addons at the top of P3D screen? It is different from my IP address.

The IP and Port number at the top of the screen (under 757 Connect), are the IP address and Port number that you should be using. The Ip and Port that I see listed up there, are the same as the ones that are used for my 757 Connect.

And where do I insert that IP address? It does not nconnect automatically.

They should be being asked for on the 757 Connect App on your device i.e. Android Tab/Cell Phone

I still don't understand. The IP shown on the wireless CDU is the IP address of my PC and not the one in the addon menu of P3D. This issue occurred after the latest update of the 757.

Did you reinstall both the 757 Captain II and the 757 Connect? If not, I suggest you reinstall the 757 Captain II using the Upgrade or Repair option (backup the aircraft.cfg if you have any additional liveries), but uninstall, then reinstall the 757 Connect.
