While nothing stopping you from installing both at once, keep in mind that MAINTAINING both sim are hard.
I have FS9, FSX, FSXSE, P4D and XP11 on my system, while my main focuse is on FS9 and P4D.
It's like..." oh I got a new scenery I want to fly into, and that distance is just right for MD11, but I only got MD11 for FS9, and the new scenery for P4D..." etc...etc....
