Title: Default Fuel
Post by jalbino59 on Sep 18th, 2020 at 2:54pm
Sorry if this has been asked and answered before.

I would like to find out if there is anyway to change the amount of fuel the 757 loads with at startup. Currently it loads with full tanks.  I would like to have it load with much less fuel.

Yes, via FMC.

Fuel is set by default to full within the sim. Some other developers (eg, FSLabs) have used XML code to start their aircraft with low fuel levels.

You can learn more by googling "FSDeveloper default fuel load"...sorry, I can't post the link.

I meant the start scenario. I know I can change it in the FMC.

Thanks for the guidance.  I look for it.

I'm not sure if this would work, but you could change the fuel quantity in the default flight for FSX/P3D, save it, then see if that affects the CS 757's fuel quantity.

Edit. I just tried this, and it worked for me in P3Dv4, so I can't see why it wouldn't work in P3Dv5, or FSX/SE. I changed it to 50% in all of the tanks in the default flight (F-22 Raptor) and the 757 had 50% fuel in all of it's tanks (left, right, and center) too, but I don't think you want 50% in the center tanks as well.

Thanks, and yes I did try that.  I got the same results as you I couldn't change the center tanks though. Those were still full

Mark thanks, I tried it again and it worked out well. There were a couple of extra tanks on the bottom of the list that I didn't notice before, but it did the trick and I'm happy with the results.

Further testing shows that to have the Center tank of the 757 empty (0%), you need to add 0% fuel to the tank nemed Center of the F-22 Raptor, then resave it as the default flight. ;)

That was the solution. Thanks again.
