I read this thread before posting my own topic on windshield rain effects because I believed my question was different.

My problem is not that I'm seeing rain in the cockpit, it's that I see no rain effects on the windsheld at all.

"As for the missing glass effects, we have to reduild it from DX11 (P3D4) to DX12 (P3D5)."

I think I originally misunderstood this comment. Do you mean that rain effect on the windshield will be added back in a later version once the relevant code has been rebuilt?
