okay understood, how do I go about replacing that .fx? find another one and rename it the same thing?

Probably because the default strobes are static and attached via aircraft.cfg, while the 767 ones are attached to an animated 3D model.
Pls try to replace the 767 strobes fx (cs767_stbL,R.fx) with any default strobe fx file.
