Title: Taxii and throttle?
Post by ual1987 on Apr 29th, 2020 at 5:21pm
Anyone experiencing issues with the CS767 taxii power? EX: i landed in SCEL from KDFW with a light load and within my landing weight and everything..but trying to taxii of the runway the plane needed a huge amount of power to get off the runway but of course using to much sets the Flaps alarm... autobrakes were off and i do use FSUIPC...any help maybe im not seeing something..i just feel like i have to push my throttles high to get the 767 to move

Have the same issue with the 757, Takes huge amount of power when pretty light, I haven't found a fix yet either aside from ignoring the alarm. I saw something where you could mod the Engine performance in the .cfg but I don't know if you'd like to do that, I don't.

Yes its the same for me. After a 7h longhaul from Vienna to Shanghai (which went absolutley smooth and I enjoyed it a lot!) and a nice landing, I started manually breaking @80Kts (the Autobrakes disconnected as they were supposed to), FWD idle @30Kts and then I wanted to vacate the runway but the 767 needed almost T/O thrust to continue taxing. I think you should investigate this..

Interesting, can't say I've seen this. I made a little video showing that I don't really have that issue. In fact, I was surprised it was holding about 20kts with mostly idle. I put in a typical landing weight with 225 pax @ 195lb/pax, 25,000lb of fuel, and 25,000lb cargo. Never really needed more than 35% N1

I'm mostly using a maximum of 32%-33% N1 for taxiing before or after a flight.

I have seen this quirk in FSX with other aircraft after landing while running out. I have found sometimes that, even with autobrake selected to OFF and reverse thrust closed, it takes a tap on the brakes to permit taxi at low power. Something just seems to be stuck, but tapping the brakes frees it up on my system. May have something to do with null zone on pedal brakes???

Maybe! I recently started using an axis for brakes instead of the joy trigger or period key (what a game changerĀ  ;D) and I notice sometimes I need to just give them a quick tap to fully release them. (that's with every plane)

I always use the joystick button (assigned to the brakes) to turn the Autobrakes off. :-/

OK, not sure this belongs here, but. It seems to take an amazing amount of throttle to get this beast moving. Over 50% on my Saitek throttle. Also, on approach, it just wouldn't go to idle and allow me to slow, so I disconnected the auto throttle and took manual control. It was borderline impossible to control the speed. It either didn't want to advance, or just go too far. I have a really decent set up and don't have this issue with any other Boeing aircraft to include the Capt Sim 752. If need be, I can video the next approach I make. It will be FSDT KJFK. The last one was FSDT KDFW, so same scenery types anyway.
