Good morning,

Aircraft looks great.  Where are the liveries for this machine located?  I only see two in the ACE.

More will come soon.
There are some painters working on it

From my side you can expect UIA and Thomas Cook soon
As well as the Condor fleet when the correct door config is released

I'll try my hand at some PW4000 I-I-I-I exit paints. I'm seeing some come out without overwing exits like United and American and it looks funny. :P

If you have time and don't object to a request would you consider doing a Britannia - this was the first aircraft I ever flew on. I don't have your skills so I would be super grateful !

@CaptainSim,

I'm trying to open the Model (y763_301.mdl) in the ModelConverterX so I am able to load liveries to be able to see what needs fixing etc to see what it would be like Insim instead of loading into the sim everytime I need to check it.

But when I load that .mdl it doesn't open? But when I open y763_301_interior_fdo.mdl it opens without issue.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if it's my issue, etc?

Leave sim open and loaded - Make changes and overwrite texture files -  In Options/Graphics change the texture resolution (to anything) to force textures to reload so you can see your corrections. Much easier than booting up the sim after each change mate  ;)

A very good idea and it was already proposed to me but thank you :) - Only issue with this is, if I want to fly (Like right now I'm doing EGKK - HEMA - EGKK, I can't exactly pop into the sim to check on my repaints... Sadly have to choose one or the other :(

Has anyone created or found a full fuselage template for painting?

For whatever reason CS refuses to provide a full fuselage leaving it to the customers to create their own. The 767 is a nice product but this lack of a full fuse template is one of the shortcomings.

Frustrating when you need to line up lines/curves for a repaint or logos that span more than one section of the partials which are in the official paint kit.

Just create a file 4096 high and 12288 long, copy merged fuse sections 1,2,3 with snap to document bounds and snap to guides enabled onto your new template.
Create vertical guides at 4096 and 8192.
The copied sections should easily snap into place @ 0,0....0,4096....0,8192 when you drag them near the boundaries and/or guides.
Viola', instant full fuse template (only basic though....you can easily use it just as a guide or spend time moving the layers from the fuse 1,2,3 masters over....I just use it as a guide then move the curves and such I need to align across the fuse sections back to their masters...too lazy to spend time building a full master...just a few copy merged's back and forth and I get perfect alignment across the fuse sections.)

Easier to do than explain, but that applies to just about every painting task, LoL

My pleasure.
Once you get the knack of it...you'll probably think of a few dozen things you can do with your new template.  ;)
One tip...label the initial fuse layers as "nose", "mid", "tail" or whatever, and LOCK them! Can't tell you how many times I forgot that last step and accidentally moved them a pixel or two and spent the next few hours pulling my hair out wondering why the line crossing between the nose and mid was 2 pixels high, low, etc.  >:(

Title: Re: Liveries
Post by PC Aviator on May 11th, 2020 at 2:28pm
True. I had that happen with another developer’s kit who does not provide a full fuse template. It took me awhile to figure it out just like you’ve said.

Thanks for the reminder  :)

No worries  :), not much has changed except I've added the engine texture and added a few little details, but I've been having a little break from painting recently. I've done everything now, just trying to work out the dreaded horizontal curve back lines  >:( ;D

Stripes wrapping across texture boundaries....one of the hardest things to do in livery painting for sure. :o

In case you've not seen some of these methods in the past.....

The method I use is to employ guides, utilize the UV map, and create 1/2 of the curve and then duplicate and mirror it to the other half (That solves many alignment issues in itself) :)

In the screenshot below...I have the UV layer set to Hard Light and 50% so I can see the paint under it.
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/481/BPYsfT.jpg

Next I put a vertical guide on the exact pixel where the stripe leaves the side fuse texture and transitions to the bottom texture ...that is where you continue the stripe (of course).
(use the green lines on the UV layer as the end of the texture boundary...do NOT use the "painted" white area that appears to be the edge of the texture boundary...its not the boundary trust me)

Then I put a horizontal guide in the exact center of the bottom texture.

I then use the pen tool to draw 1/2 the stripe on the bottom, using the horizontal guide to snap the shape to.

Finally I duplicate the shape I created with the pen tool and mirror the new layer, bounding the pivot point on that same horizontal guide to create an exact mirror of the stripe on the other side.  ;)

Good luck with your stripes!  I know what you're facing to get them done correctly.  Any way you choose to do it...its not easy. ;)

Title: Re: Liveries
Post by PC Aviator on May 13th, 2020 at 7:26pm
Most definitely!  I do pretty much the same thing: work on one side then duplicate, flip, and align. Just what Steve said.

And the pen tool has become a good friend of mine  :)

Best of luck  ;)

You have the guides setup ok...you just need to extend your blue from the left arrow alllllllllllllllllll the way back to the right arrow in the pic below...then tweak it.  Its a process (but I'm telling you anything you don't already know) :-/
Its really hard to conceptualize but you have to visualize a flat piece of paper with cutouts to join the tapering fuse in the rear...painting a tube for 3 dimensions on a flat, 2 dimensional texture map is easy...until you get to the pointy parts at the ends.  ;D

Otherwise I heard DABUC has the Condor logo on the tail as well :-)

I've done LTU on a few models, including most recently on the A330.

I'm still waiting on the outcome of the engine expansion decision before deciding on the 767...so no paints of the 767 from me until that's answered.
If I get the answer I'm looking for and purchase the plane, I'll consider painting LTU if nobody gets to it 1st.

I'd be happy to point you towards Tank787 they have a fair amount of CS 767 Captain II repaints for Australia including the Australian Airlines paintjob in multiple variations. Unfortunately it's not on ACE so you'd have to grab off their website.

My previous post has been deleted somehow...

Requesting the last "main" freight 767 livery for the base ER version!
As I have no intentions to buy the CF version with a door that will not want to open...

We already have beautiful paints for UPS, DHL, Amazon, Atlas.

Heck, I will even send you money.

For the sake of our community.

THANK YOU!

If only that bloody main cargo door would open for GSX... :(

Way back when, I posted that I'd do LTU, stating.....
..."I'm still waiting on the outcome of the engine expansion decision before deciding on the 767...so no paints of the 767 from me until that's answered.
If I get the answer I'm looking for and purchase the plane, I'll consider painting LTU if nobody gets to it 1st."

Sadly, CS's decision on the Freighter version, the only model I was interested in, was NOT what I was looking for, as I imagine no Freighter fan did either.

So I will not be purchasing nor painting the CS 767, ever.
I apologize to those who PM'd me asking to paint several liveries like AA Bare metal, Fed Ex, UPS, ANA, US Air bare metal, Iberia old colors, Delta, Icelandair, and too many more to mention since it's irrelevant now.

Hope you guys eventually get your paint requests granted, but there is one less livery painter painting this model due to CS's decisions on how to handle "The Freighter Story" ::)

Good Afternoon to all

Air Canada has received is first 767-300ER Freighter that has already entered in service sooner than expected in order to provide additional cargo capacity needed into and out of Vancouver to meet ongoing demand as a result of the flooding that disrupted British Columbia's transportation network. The aircraft is still in the old livery but will receive the new 2017 one soon. Having CS B767 Freighter painted in this new livery will be really welcome.

The Leisure ITVV DVD Gatwick to Orlando flight was included with the another company boxed version of their software.

Leisure, if I recall, had two B767-300ER aircraft...the Caribbean Star and the Atlantic Star.

I've been tempted on this one...I actually like it's simplicity...just too many others on my list before that one.

I've posted a few others over at Avsim.

I actually painted Leisure on the another company model decades ago from a request.
Sadly I'm not sure if I'll paint anymore than the one I'm working on now since I got her on the $9.99 sale (A good deal actually)

Not really a fan of the new "bandit" livery. I just looked at some recent photos (triggered by a photo I saw of C-FPCA delivered from Ben Gurion to Toronto post ERBDSF conversion)...it was still in the "toothpaste" livery less the "Air Canada" banner. I thought it would have been painted in the new colours before it was put into service.

To my surprise, it's still wearing the old livery but with a new paint job (with the old Air Canada banner).

Hey Steve!

I worked on the Leisure International Airways livery for a couple of hours this afternoon...couldn't find any good photos that I could use for the logos. Wound up making three from scratch from old photos that were zoomed 500%: (hopefully these links work...this is a trial)

The created and end result for the "Leisure" Banner:

The created and end result for the tail flag:

and finally the front port logo (aircraft name):

It shouldn't take me too long to get this one done...maybe a couple of days without interruptions.

Good Morning my friend.

I'm not a big fan either but all 8 aircrafts will wear this livery when completed starting with the second one.

From Air Canada news:

"Our first freighter is being deployed earlier than initially planned in order to provide additional cargo capacity needed into and out of Vancouver to meet ongoing demand as a result of the flooding that disrupted British Columbia's transportation network," said Jason Berry, Vice President, Cargo, at Air Canada.

Given the immediate demand for cargo capacity, the first freighter entered service without its final livery. At a later date, it will be painted in an Air Canada Cargo variation of the Air Canada livery introduced in 2017."

Any liveries, at this point, will be welcome.  ;)

Thanks for your time and keep up to good work.

Hey Steve,

The Air Europa and Spanair are two very easy liveries. I'm not going to commit, though.

The Iberia one isn't that bad either.

The Lauda and Aer Lingus are interesting...on the prospect list.

I thought Steve Drabek might pick up the LTU liveries...I saw the later LTU livery has already been done for the P&W variant (in the ACE library). Not sure if I'll pick up the earlier LTU Sud livery.

Right now, I'm working on a DHL Freighter livery with a middle east Reg # which came through as a personal email request.

Re the LTU livery - I'm not sure the one in ACE has the correct reg for the 8 door config...

I'm finding some of the other liveries on ACE and inibuilds the blanked out windows are not displaying properly - I assume this is due to CS changing the textures in an update at some point.

Hello again Steve!

I appreciate the vote of confidence on my paints...much appreciated!

I quickly looked at the D-AMUN livery in ACE...you are correct, that airframe was actually a 6x2 configuration IRL...it also wore both sets of liveries...the earlier LTU Sud and the later LTU.

I'm impressed you're counting windows!!! (Keep me on my toes!)  :)

The windows blanks are a little tricky...the first three times I had to re-learn it for myself. (I think I finally got it!!!)

Right now I'm trying to finish up a DHL livery...haven't decided what's next. I think I'm up to 12 now (7 Pax, 5 Freighter)...I'm going to be picky about what I choose next.

Thanks Steve!

This one started as D-AMUR. As I was painting this one, I noticed a few anomalies on the real aircraft...it had a smaller forward cargo door and the emergency exit was actually located over the wing...the real aircraft (D-AMUR) looked like a hybrid between a 4x4 and a 6x2.

I changed the registration because I know some of you are counting windows!

;D

It would be a wonderful sight if someone would be able to make an Asiana livery. It appears there isn't one yet.

Hi all,

First time buying Captainsim product.
Not a bad product for B767 in P3d.
However, looks like I am unable to find any Asiana paint.
Could I please request for Asiana B767 repaint..
This aircraft is scheduled to be retired in 2024. Would really be wonderful to do some flying in sim before it retires.
