Title: FPS/Smoothness
Post by teglas77 on Dec 23rd, 2019 at 9:46pm
Hello
I've just purchased the 777 for P3D v4 and I seem to be encountering some issues with terrible fps both inside the cockpit as well as outside. 20-ish fps inside and 30-ish fps outside. With the another company i would have gotten 30 in the cockpit and 55-70 outside...also, the lights in the cockpit seem to be on? I mostly need help fixing the fps issues. Thanks

This is for the 757 but can be useful to the 777 as well: https://www.captainsim.org/forum/csf.pl?num=1514919904

Hello

Thank you for the quick reply. Could you please help me by explaining in greater detail how to: minimize the use of display 2d clones, disable true glass and disable volumetric flight deck lighting and exterior lighting for both 777 and 757 ? Could't figure out how to tweak out those, the rest i did take care of and there was an FPS improvement.

Thanks

- There's no trueglass on the 777
- do not call 2D clones of the displays.
- Minimize use of volumetric lighting.

- Turn OFF external FX.
- In VC use only those you really need.
But first I'd check how much these lights affect your fps.

Title: Help disabling certain gauges (FPS/Smoothness)
Post by superskullmaster on Aug 20th, 2019 at 3:25pm
I want to disable the right and center CDU's. I've done the right PFD and MFD but can't figure out the non-captain CDU's. Ive done everything you guys suggest. 30 fps is way low in vc compared to ANY other payware plane I have, but it would be ok if at least it was smooth. My PC is pretty decent so that's NOT the problem.

Panel.cfg
Just put the ; at the begining of the gauge line you want to disable:

;gauge00=Captain_Sim.y777.display!scrn,       0,   0, 205, 273, 2

CDU will not save you a lot. 6 big displays are the main FPS eaters.

I already disabled the two on the right. But if the CDU's don't matter much i'll just leave it as is.

Hello
Could you please tell me which gauges do i have to disable in the aircraft cfg file in order to not have co-pilot MFD, PFD and CDU? Thanks!

All main displays are in gauge00=Captain_Sim.y777.display!scrn
located in [VCockpit05-10]

The rest is obvious from [VCockpitXX] descriptions:
;R01 right-in 5
;R03 right-out 6

You can't disable just the right CDU tho.

Rename 5 cs777_v_ fx files in ...\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Effects\ folder.
