Different computer, settings, and graphics catd will make a difference. Maybe you use a higher gamma setting (on the PC, not in FSX) than I do.

At least you have the NAV/GPS displayed now. I think your persistence to get it is greater than mine would have been, as I would have just flown the 727 without it, as long as I knew that is what the switch does. ;)
