Title: Speed mgt, VNAV, FLCH Post by Crabby on May 10th, 2019 at 4:17am
I just updated to the 1303 isntaller and saw numerous speed management issues.
1. FMC set to CI of 100, VNAV Cruise showed .81 Mach at FL370 and the plane never flew less than right on and right above the barber pole at over .84 mach. 2. Reset CI to 80 and the FMC was commanding .80 and the aircraft was at .84 3. Reset CI to 50 and the FMC commanded .80 again, and the aircraft was always .84 4. Selected speed mode and commanded .80 on the MCP and the aircraft stayed on the barber pole. 5. Commanded a descent from the FMC 15nm from the projected TOD and nothing happened. The aircraft stayed straight and level until the actual TOD, then it waited for the path indicator to slam full bottom and went into a 4000+ fpm descent and FMC asked for drag. 6. Switched to FLCH and commaned .80 and the aircraft maintained a 4000 fpm descent. 7. When FLCH is selected, the AUTO Throttle should go into ARM mode and allow the descent rate to be controlled with the addition or subtraction of thrust. It stayed in active mode and never left IDLE 8. Was planning ILS35C into DFW and ATC approved 35L. When I changed the procedure from the DEP/ARR section, the FMC kept the route to 35C active and on top of the new routing to 35L. I had to go into the legs position and see where the new route was added (after the 35C missed approach data) then copy and paste it up to make it right. To top it all off I had 2 CTD's during the flight. Once when I turned on the main panel flood and once on arrival with no input from myself. These are the first CTD's I have experienced with this aircraft. So far, it seems a step back and I am tempted to roll the install back. If any of these issues are repeated, I apologize as the forum would not retrun any results when I searched for "managed speed" "VNAV speed" etc. Let me know if you want pictures as I document all the speed issues. |

KDFW to KPHL same speed issues. If this is a known issue that is being worked on let me know. FMC saying .80 in cruise and plane overspeeding.

Overide VNAV speed set to .80 and speed holds .82+

ok, I have tested managing the speed from all angles. Seems like the the actual plane speed is .2 to .5 above what ever the source of the speed is set to.
VNAV, Speed, VNAV override (pressing the ctr of the speed knob) never results in the speed flown being correct. |

Same problem , Speed is not respected on descent VNAV doesnt respect speed restriction under 10000 , i always have to set manual speed to dont get overspeed under 10 000 , can you fix this please ?
it's really annoying |

And no response. Guess the CS group has the same support level as when they released the 727.
