How do I put the 757 in Cold and Dark with out having to to manually turn everything off?

What do you mean by "manually"? You can do that through the FMC OPTIONS and select/execute Cold&Dark state.

Not only put the plane into C&D mode, but also managed a very successful C&D start-up to full take off flight.

i have the same prob..
we mean how we can maintain for every times the cockpit in Gold and Dark option.. every moment when we need use this plane for do a flight , we found every time the panel  ready so we have to go the FMC menu and choose gold and dark ...
we don't need to pass by this step to find the cockpit in cold and dark..

1) Go to Prepar3D v4\Captain_Sim\757-III\panel\basic
2) Copy the COLD AND DARK.cfg.
3) Go to Prepar3D v4\Captain_Sim\757-III\panel\custom
4) Paste the COLD AND DARK.cfg.
5) Rename COLD AND DARK.cfg > DEFAULT.cfg
6) When you start the 757-III in Prepar3D v4, using the CDU, press the MENU button > SETUP > OPTIONS > NEXT PAGE button > make sure LOAD DEFAULT PANEL STATE is ON

After that, every time you load a 757-III, it will be in a cold and dark state.

Note. Change Prepar3D v4\ to FSX\, Prepar3D v3\, for those flight sims. ;)
