After this update I have the same problem as before. The execute function is not really working. It does not safe the options page in the fmc. After any change the light of the exec button illuminates but after pressing the button nothing happens. The y572.xml did not get updated after pushing execute in the options page.

Every time I change an option, and press EXEC, when I look at the y572.xml file, it has been saved with the new changes. It's strange that it doesn't work for you.

Have you tried editing the y572.xml file?

<adi_type>1</adi_type>                0 = basic, 1 = advanced
<pause_tod>1</pause_tod>          0 = no, 1 = yes
<fast_irs>1</fast_irs>                    0 = no, 1 = yes
<weight_units>0</weight_units>    0 = pounds, 1 = kilograms
<fo_disable>0</fo_disable>            0 = no, 1 = yes
<load_default>1</load_default>     0 = no, 1 = yes

Make your changes to the file using the above info as a guide, then save it. See if that works. It's not ideal, but if it works, you can at least get the options the way you want them.


BACKUP THE y572.xml FILE BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO IT!!!

Ok I have edited it manually and it works. I don't know why it's not working in the Sim but now I have the options as I want. Thanks for your help ;).

Because your system does not allow the FMC dll make any changes in the y572.xml file.
Why? Various reasons possible: the sim wasn't run as admitistrator, AV issues,  widows account security settings etc.
