The virtual cockpit IS in the centre of the cockpit, not the Captain view. If you look at the aircraft.cfg, you will see that HotkeySelect=1 has been added to the Captain view ([CameraDefinition.001]). It's the last line of code in that Camera Definition. What this does, is it tells FSX/P3D to move the view to the Captain view when you press the F9 key, or whatever key you might have changed it to if you did happen to change it.

I assume you need to map the Captain view to fsuipc, so it moves your view there. I'm not sure how to do that though. :-/
