Use the mouse wheel. I can't change te speed setting on my laptop unless I connect a mouse, because the touchpad doesn't have a mouse wheel (at least not that I know of). :(

I'm getting really fed up now.
Even using the mouse I cannot change the speed on the panel, either the mcp or the virtual panel.
I have tried 3 different mouse types, wired and wireless.
I've now installed and uninstalled 6 times and still nothing. I've read through the manual and followed it step by step...
The only way I can 'fly' this bird is by manual control of the speed although sometimes this drops off without warning.
What else can I try - any ideas?

Once again, are you using chaseplane ?

No... just the 757 as it is...

Just as a couple of troubleshooting questions:
1. When you put the mouse pointer over over the IAS/MACH Selector knob does it change to a pointing hand?
2. Does a Tooltip with "IAS/MACH Selector" appear?
3. With the pointer showing as a pointing hand and you roll the mouse wheel up or down, what happens (I suspect nothing as this appears to be the main source of your frustration!)?
4. If you perform the same procedure over any other knob (Alt/Hdg/Radio Tuner/etc) what happens?

Thanks for getting back to me.
Putting the mouse pointer over the speed nothing change. If I roll the mouse wheel forward or backward my view zooms either in or out.
I don't get the tool tip come up if I hoover the mouse over the IAS.
I can change ALT and VS fine.. just the speed.
Can it have something to do with using the mouse to zoom in and out in the cockpit?
If so I don't understand why the ALT and VS will let me roll the mouse wheel without issue...

I'll make a double check on this later. I'm just heading out so don't have the time right now. I'm pretty sure what I have described here is what is happening....

Remove your mouse zoom feature in the VC and then try without.
This could be the problem.

This zoom function can sometimes be a problem in chaseplane, hence my question.

I'll give that a go once I'm home (I'm away for a few days)
I did wonder if it was the zoom function of the mouse but everything else seemed fine I didn't pursue it.
I'll get back to you once I've tried removing the zoom.
Many thanks
Adrian

Okay so I've had another look at things.

I still cannot change the speed on either the virtual panel or the MCP.
I've tried both connected and wireless mice (free range) but still no joy. I can change the altitude and heading but either left or right clicks but not at all my scrolling.

Just to make completely sure I've not got the mouse in any form of zoom mode I've cleared all the menus for views etc so the mouse doesn't appear anywhere.

I'm kind of running out of ideas - what are your thoughts?

I really appreciate your help!
Adrian
