You have to remember EVERYTHING was cheaper back then. Due to inflation prices rise. My mom went to see Elvis for 20 dollars. You could get a candy bar for less than 30 cents. I don't know for certain but if you account for inflation prices were probably the same as now. You can't compare prices from then to prices from now. It doesn't work that way
14 dollars now might not get you much but at the time it did.

Taking inflation into account, most flights are cheaper now, than they were back then. ;)

That's cool to know. I'm only 21 so I don't have first hand knowledge. Just what my parents have told me.
