Title: Better that Qualitywings
Post by kessler on Jan 28th, 2018 at 6:49pm
Hi all,

I have been flying this aircraft for a week now and I'm very pleased with it.  I must say I think its better than the Qualitywings 757.

Although I am fairly new to the 757, I have been using FSX since it first came out.  I was a bit unsure about buying the CS 757 based on just the limited functionality of the free demo which I tried, so I'm glad to say that my money has not been wasted.

I have been thinking about purchasing P3D v4 but I suspect that the Captain 2D panel will have disappeared from the CS 757 for this platform?  Up to now, I have found only ifly 73 and 74 that still do a 2D Captain (and First Officer) panel for P3D v4.

Anyway, I just thought to post my thoughts.

Rory

The only 2D panels that the 757 Captain III has, are MCP panel,EFIS panel, CDU panel, and the Radio stack. And I primarily use the CDU panel, followed by the EFIS panel, but rarely the rest. I just move my view around the cockpit to manage the butttons and knobs.
Even in the 757 v4.6 for FSX, I rarely use more than the 2D CDU. It was something I only started doing when I went from FS9/FS2004 to FSX. The Captain Sim 757 was my second jet airliner I ever bought for FS (the 737 PiC was the first).

thanks for the reply Markoz.  This is why I need 2D panels though.

If that is your homebuilt cockpit.     WOW!  :o

The only advice I could give, would be to create views that give you the same view of the instrument clusters as those one do, then open each view in a new window, and drag them to the monitors they are used on, which would take a bit of work.

Note. You would need to turn of the motion in those views, MomentumEffect=YES, would need to be changed to MomentumEffect=NO, so that the movement of the 757 in the sim, doesn't affect those views.

Yes that's my home cockpit. I think I will have to buy P3D and then have a play with it.  Would you think I could create similar views with Ezdok? I don't have it but have been looking at it.

thanks,

rory

I'm sure you could create views with EZdok, for EZdok, but I don't think they are added to to the aircraft.cfg, and I don't know how it works with multiple monitors. :(

I'm in the same boat, have a 757 home built sim and ONLY use  2d panels to make a complete MIP.  I have to  stay with FS9  and CS757  for my sim experience.  to have all the standby gauges.  :( :( :(
