Title: Reverser Animation
Post by GrizzlyAir on Aug 8th, 2017 at 12:23pm
I see on the 727-200 page that there is a screenshot with the reversers deployed and the clam shells opening on engines 1 and 3. However, in neither model with reversers engaged do the clamshells on the rear of the engine nacelles open. There simply is no reverser animation on either.  Have I missed something or was the animation removed after CS posted those screenshots?

The videos were done a long time ago, when the reverser animation worked, but the animation must have been removed (most likely unintentionally) during one of the more recent updates.

I have the latest versions installed, and all my models with the external reversers are working properly with the clamshells animated.    Most of the models have internal reverser mechanisms, so you won't see any animation when they are engaged.  Only the models with the /RE designation have external reverser doors.

I see. I thought that all 727's had the same type of reverser.  :o

Most 727-100's had Cascade reversers, this Means that Clam Shells were not needed for this type of reverser, Only the Super 27 had clamshell type reversers.

I worked the flight engineer panel and flew the 727 as well for a total of 8 years.

At my airline we had three versions.  The -100, the -200 Stretch, and the -200 Advanced.  On our -100's and -200 Stretch models, the reversers were clamshell type.  On the -200 ADV models the reversers were cascade vane type.  We also had a model designated "QC" for quick change between freight and passenger configurations, but that was before my time.  I flew her until the last day of revenue operations.  I miss her!  Still my favorite!
