Title: ILS in the 130
Post by townair on Aug 1st, 2017 at 12:05am
So after about an hour in the forums and 10 minutes in the cockpit I believe I have figured out the sequence of events that need to take place in order to "properly" operate the autopilot.  Seems like this is a very common issue with this aircraft that I'm finding out about after purchasing it haha.

Anywho, when intercepting the glide slope for an ILS approach I can get the aircraft to follow the vertical indicator but not the horizontal.  I have seen a post or two regarding this, and followed the instructions, but still can't get it to work properly.  The horizontal indicator will make its way to center as I approach the glide slope, however once it gets centered it stops there so the aircraft doesn't know to start following it down.

This is how I have it setup when performing this procedure:
POWER = ON
ENGAGE = ON
HEIGHT/I.A.S. = ON
TRACK = ON
MODE SEL. = VOR/ILS 1

Now when I intercept the ILS the aircraft does follow the ILS.  When the horizontal indicator gets a little above the center of my artificial horizon I click twice on the "GUIDE" to turn it on.  Clicking once just turns everything else off.  Once thats turned on none of the other autopilot functions work and I can move the aircraft with the controls as if the autopilot is no longer controlling anything.  How should I go about learning how to do all of this correctly?

Thank you for your all's time in advance!
