Thank you,

Will the updates be free? Or will we have a discount? Because I have p3D 3.0's 737-200 and 727 airplanes and it would be a shame I could not use them on new simulator.

Awesome 707

I really enjoyed the 707 many times. Its an awesome plane. Thought it had the problems of reseting everything after warp move. Meaning I had to restart the plane in cruise all the time or long hauls was impossible. But it is a wonderful plane. I hope you do a v4 version.
And what about upgrading the model plane anyway. And make various cockpit versions. The model could hold the total make over.

I have flown sim since 2000 and since the release it had been a favorite aircraft. Its like the payware 4 letter company MD-11. It also have its magic.

And, got impression again by one of the US VC-25A that departed today over our apartment. I cross my fingers you will bring us soon a 747 classic wit all those goodies I mentioned above  8-)

To CaptSim Team:
I really, really like flying your products in FSX and am looking forward to the B52, 707, 727, 767, 757, 777 for P3Dv4... in that order.

I've only ever flown 10 hrs in a Cessna 172 in RL, however flying  the B52 is like what I would imagine a huge lumbering monstrosity of an airplane would fly like (my vivid imagination probably helps a little also!).  One must think way ahead of the airplane; you capture that very nicely!

The 707 and 727 have their own unique "feel".

The 757 and 767 are great trouble-free aircraft to fly.

Your 777 is my modern aircraft of choice to fly.  It's a little glitchy.  First it was the AP now it overspeeds uncontrollably in AT/VNAV; I have to control it manually.  Problem showed up for no reason and suddenly... no new addons, nothing else changed.  Submitted to support.  I have no doubt that will be resolved eventually.

Anyway, Thanks and keep up the good work.

Walter

could 1011 have a little update, like new CDU INS version?

Title: Re: Prepar3D 4 progress
Post by Caribflyer on Aug 26th, 2017 at 1:29pm
For the L1011, TCAS was used on the aircraft eventually so having this as an optional feature would be very helpful. Also, DME updating in the INS would be a great feature since it's one of the features that makes the INS a challenge.

Having an aircraft in a "stock" configuration is nice to capture the original look of the aircraft but it can result in customers quickly loosing interest. Bare in mine that many people fly on VATSIM and other networks and an aircraft without TCAS and other more modern features that were eventually fitted to the 737, 727 and L1011, would make the aircraft more appealing to fly.

For the 707, the most modern equipment fitted to this aircraft was perhaps INS, or later basic Bendix GPS units along with TCAS. I would liketo see a model in the 707 that has dual INS instead of the doppler which not too many may be keen on using.

Title: Re: Prepar3D 4 progress
Post by richcam427 on Aug 28th, 2017 at 1:33am
3D INS in the 707 is a must.

I would love to see the 727 get a major overhaul with modelling and textures up to the standard of the 737/777/L1011. It desperately needs it, because it's definitely showing its FS9-era age now.

Hey CS guys! I'm new to Captain Sim, and I was just checking on the compatibility list for v4. While I may not have any experience with CS products, I did find it a little shocking that I didn't see your 757 product even crack your top 5. With no plans from QualityWings on keeping their 757 up to date, I do not believe there is a single 757 available for Prepar3d v4, so I am really looking forward to trying out the CS 757. Please give us an update on this aircraft as soon as one is available!  :)

Sorry for the delay in my response. Painting the 773 fuse is quite a challenge (at least for me) as the file CS_773_4_t.psd is a puzzle to fit to the adjacent texture files CS_777_1_t.psd for the fore section and CS_777_3_t.psd for the aft section. A single, complete fuse PSD file for both models (and the Freighter too for that matter) would be the ideal (that's my point). I think there might be more repaints/repainters of the 773 if that would be sorted. I know there's a few chaps who've repainted this bird in the 773/W model, but I've seen it drop off recently. Now even UAL now flies a 773, but no repaint from anybody not even the prolific CS 777 painters like Garrett Rowley. Anyway, I'd sure repaint it, but it's a bit of a challenge. There are a lot of 773/77W operators, but not many CS repaints. There are more in the 772; that might be an indication of the same challenge on the repaint side. More repaints might translate to more buyers/fliers.

Respectfully,
Jeffrey S. Bryner

If I were to add a quick suggestion for the L1011 and 707 (more so the 707), I would also be a nice feature to have a Virtual Flight Engineers who you can assign to control the fuel management of the aircraft. This is very useful for very long flights where fuel management is a must.

My reason for suggesting this is that typically I find myself flying mostly shorter flights because of the fact that I have to be around to manage the fuel system. While I enjoy doing it, I've found that I don't really get to utilize the 707 for longer flights. As an option, perhaps it would be a good thing to add a virtual flight engineer as an option that can be turned on or off.

On the INS topic, one of the major features that makes the use of an INS so unique is the DME updating feature. Will this be added to the CS INS unit? that would be a huge improvement to the overall flying experience. While on the topic of INS, I'm not sure of how many use the Doppler unit, but for those like myself who prefer the INS, can there be an option to have 2 INS units in the Virtual Cockpit? This option might be a bit more realistic to what you would find during the pinnacle of the 707 era of jet travel.

On the topic of TCAS. While CS does an outstanding job on recreating the original look of an aircraft, please keep in mind that realistically we tend to fly/use these products in a modern setting and especially so when flying on VATSIM. So while having the normal VSI is good, perhaps as an option a TCAS unit can also be utilized by those who would rather fly a 707 that is reminicent of how their cockpits were setup during the late 80s/ early 90s.

One more observation.....both the L1011 and 707 could use a bit of improvement in the engine startup. The engine start sequence for those engines seem to be a bit too quick once fuel is introduced (especially so with the L1011). After looking at a few Just Planes DVDs featuring the 707 and L1011, it is noticable that the engines take a little more time to start up and stabilize. Finally, sound immersion has come a long way over the past 5 or so years and it would be nice to see some improvements here also. The cockpit environment is filled with sounds of avionics, bleed air, fans, electrical hum and more. Some developers have been able to recreate this and everyone loves it. If possible, perhaps this can also be looked at?

Hopefully we will also see new interior and exterior lighting that is fully customizable and for P3Dv4 the use of dynamic lighting will also be a big plus. TDFI is offering a product for VC rain and aircraft lighting effects to other developers. It's called Trueglass and Truelight. Perhaps CS can look into this?

The title of this thread is "Prepar3d 4 progress". So my first question TO THE DEVS is "where is the progress?".  If you feel we have no right to ask that's fine, but if so then what is the purpose of the thread you started?, is it a feature request thread for software that doesn't exist? Are you guys on extended vacation?

And still no reported progress. We are now on the 2nd version of the p3d4 x64 platform. Certain other developers admitted to beginning their projects very late and yet they've all completed them, save one particular developer that at the very least provides timely updates to their customers.  I have 3 CS titles. I'm glad I did not purchase more. With all respect to Cptn. Lou, I certainly will not spend anyone's 2 cents on another CS title, even less my own.

Im surprised that the 757/67 are such low priority in converting. I alluded to it before that CS has a massive opportunity in converting/updating the 57/67 to V4. Those 2 aircraft are in big demand as they are still flown today and many VAs have them in their lineup. While those legacy classic airliners are nice, they are real niche and could be captured anytime since no one is doing them and they rarely flown real world today. But to get ahead of these other mystery ultra secret 757s and perhaps 767 from the other dev, Im guessing we wont see them anytime soon.  Therefore  a release by captain sim on these ones would do very well assuming the bugs are kept to a minimum.  would be an instabuy to upgrade my 767. I currently have to go over to XPX11 to fly it.
Just my thoughts.

Agree!  I miss flying the 767 in V4 - it is my favorite aircraft.  Disappointing to not see it on the list.  Truly, my favorite is the 767-400, but it's super niche and nobody would probably release it.  Maybe someday, but it can't come soon enough.

Same here, very surprised. It's the largest gap in the FS community and nobody seems to pick them up. Proper 757 and 767 models for V4 would surely be top sellers.

I don't understand the 777.

I thought I read something a while back that hinted that CS were redoing the 757 and 767 products.  I would imagine that P3Dv4 compatibility would probably be on the feature list, if that were the case.  I took the OP above in the context of existing product releases that will be converted for P3Dv4, with few or no other changes such as new features.

As far as I know, the list only shows the next 4 products (which Captain Sim can change at any time, as they have already done so since the list first appeared) on the list for updating for P3Dv4, so I expect that all of Captain Sim's products are on the list, but the 757/767, and all the others not listed, are not in the top 4.

With all due respect - I abandoned hope! As much as I like the C-130 to fly in FSX (was really one of my favourite aircraft), I don't augur well for any updates for P3Dv4 or higher.
I would give the devs great credit for a clear statement that they are not able (or no longer interested in) to upgrade their models for v4. That would be fair and honest. Accordingly, users can watch out for other producers. Don't get me wrong - but so many other developer do the step and convert - not in days or weeks but months.
I am about to pay an adequate price for the upgrade, but announcements for such a long time without any results strains our nerves.
I am disappointed.

I think the list is kind of funny.  The 757 has already released and it was not even on the List!  Capt Sim just likes to mess with us,     ;)  For us Military sim guys, could you please get us at least one of your fine products?  C-130X4 would be great, the 707 AWACS would be nice, but an entirely overlooked derivative is the entire C-135 Family.  KC, RC, WC, EC, Etc.  Of Course I realize that this would be a new product, but it is sorely needed in the FS World.

Totally agree with woogey, we need KC's RC's E3's C130's and B52 IL76 AN12 TU95... even a C17!  It's a wide open field... no one does these for P3Dv4.  Think about it.  Thanks and rgds,
WS

When and if you get around to making Weapons P3D V4 compatible, can you finish the product by making the bomb function work please.

That's an important improvement that we've been waiting a long time for. I hope it happens when they update it too!

Well, I stop by once a week to see if my C130 is on the list.  is funding the issue?  Maybe we could crowdsource the money for development hours?

The waiting come to an end finally!

Lockheed Martin P3Dv4.3 includes the Captain Sim C-130 Hercules with most features including 64bit sound - means, all clickable sounds etc.
Everything seems to work like a charm and third party paints as well....

I said a similar thing in the Prepar3D 4 upgrades Topic, reply #12 ;) ;D

Note. I did notice some strange covers on the rear of the engines on the AC-130 Spectre, that are not in FSX (see attached image).

I mean, if CS isn't going to update these products, that's honestly fine, but I wish they'd let us know what's going on a little bit more often than once every 6 months.

Hi ! Do you think we will ever see an update of the 727 for P3D v4.3 ?? I guess it must require a certain amount of work to update this aircraft and if it is so, you can charge a special price for a returning client and of course the full price for a new customer. There are almost 7 pages of returning client for this product. Why is it taking so long to update a product that many customers are waiting for ?  :-[

Probably because each product is very sophisticated mix of 2/3D art and thousands of pages of code handwritten in accordance with thousands of pages of the aircraft manuals.
Multiply by 41 active products.

The 727 is not on the list. We'll reconsider as soon as the next 3 upgrades are out.

Are there any news on the 777 for P3D v4 available  [smiley=engel017.gif]? I know, the update status list is up-to-date, however is there any information on an expected time frame or maybe some new features we can all look forward to  ;) ?

Thanks!

But what about the B-52....?
Agree that the new Boeing 757 is absolutely awesome, one of my favorite tubeliner ever.

Even so, there really is only one B-52 available for the FSX/P3D crowd that is worth having, and that is Your B-52. So getting it updated for P3Dv4.3 would be absolutely amazing. I really can't go back to FSX/P3Dv3.4 anymore.....
