Title: Idea for next project?
Post by DdD on Jan 31st, 2017 at 11:30am
Hi Guys,

(sorry if I'm not in the correct place but did not find a place for futur project)

Now that Precision Ma[...] abandoned the MD-11 in prepar3d, there is no serious alternative to flight the fabulous MD-11. Maybe CaptainSim would develop something for this bird in P3D?

Thank you in advance ;-)

IMO they should stay away from glass cockpit and modern aircraft and stick with the analog one.I just bought their l1011 and holly **** its a quantum improvement compare to their previous product in term of system. So i think DC-10,early A300/310, and B747 classic is their best option.

plus they made their own version of INS. so i think it would be kind of a waste if they decide to make MD-11 or any other modern aircraft. ;D ;D

I agree. I think its unlikely they will make a modern aircraft. The community on this forum had a vote some years ago and while the results were never published, it seems the B747-100/200 was the clear favourite.

We will find out in good time as the next project is currently being worked on, and I also hope it's the 747-100/200. ;)

Yes please im begging CS to make the 747 classic line up...

cargo and pax version of the 747-100 / 747-200 / 747-300 and the pax version of the 747-SP

that by far would be the best addon ever..!

Second option would be the DC10 family.

third option would be MD11 family

Classic 747 is also my bet or at least a great DC-10, good system depth and INS + TCAS configurable. Hopefully not a Caravelle or a DC-8-50/60 (in development by one already) or another of these very vintage birds.  :)

Win any product - vote for the next project

April 2017 will soon be here. Has Captain Sim ceased production and letting the web site run it's course? I check the site on a regular basis and there has been no activity since 2015 other than the annual 24 hour sale. Is the Captain Sim team alive and well or closing up shop? Don

Three posts above yours, I said "the next project is currently being worked on", so the answer to your question is no, Captain Sim have not ceased production. ;)

Hopefully we will find out what the next project is fairly soon. ;D

One of the last interactions I had with Captain Sim was with regard to the TCAS on the 777.  On about February 27, 2016 a revision was issued: "The TCAS problem has been fixed, and repacked in an updated installer. Use the Extended Download Service and download the 777-200 Base Pack".  So I know they are still issuing updates at least.  Patiently waiting for the release of their next aircraft.

I vote for 747-100/200/300. It seems it's been ignored for modern simulators. FS9 had a pretty good one from Ready For Pushbback. I'd love to see what CS could do with it. Easily one if not the most recognizable aircraft. I wouldn't mind seeing them do a classic airbus too. Boeings seem to be their thing though.

DC-10 would be cool too. I love the DC-10.

I just hope they add a version with a cabin. That's one of my favorite things to do in FS. Sit in a cabin.

One thing I wish they'd do is make it where you can see the cabin in the VC version of the 777. They said they would in a post a couple years ago. Just cut the cabin a little.

My vote is for the DC-10. Nobody has come close to doing that aircraft justice yet.

+1
But if not a DC-10, then a classic 747-100/200 would be fun.

My vote was for the 747-100/200 and then the DC-10

The 777 1.8 is not the project they have been working on?  ;) I don't hope so.

I agree. We need something like a 747. It would be a pity if they spent nearly a year just working on a few fixes for the 777.

+1 A 747 classic, with fully functional 3D VC implemented INS, round gauges, tape-type gauges and working TCAS, all differently configurable. Something like that :)

As I have said before, they are working on the next aircraft! They didn't spend one year on just the 1.8 update for the 777, and making the 777 Wireless CDU compatible for iPhone/iPad! ;)

and its the only Boeing aircraft they haven't done either.

(and no b717 doesn't count because it's not a pure Boeing aircraft)

I'd like to see the 727 updated to L-1011 standard; new model with 3D windows HD liveries, HD cockpit, 3D INS option in the VC, etc. It's a shame that it was never updated like the 707 and 737 were. It deserves it more than than anything.

Along with that, I'd like to see the L-1011 get expanded with the other models (-50, -100, -150, -200, -250, -500) as well as the tape gauges in the VC and a FMS option (-500s were factory-equipped, and many others were retrofitted.)

It was such a long time ago I can't remember exactly what I voted for but at the top of my list I think I had the 747 Classic and the DC-10 or DC-8 series.

If Captain Sim is working on a 747 Classic it has to be better than the RFP 747 for FS2004 which had VERY detailed systems with nearly every system being fully modeled.

The only addition I would like to see in CS products is the offering of options such as INS or FMS (Smith's FMS or LTN 92 INS) and TCAS.

Secondly, It would also be nice to see environmental effect like wing and engine condensation.

Thank you for your comment. Even If I could agree with all your comment. A300 would be great for me as well (Simcheck A300 is nice but looklike FS2000 design what is a shame, and for what I see, CS never did Airbus...

But MD-11 start to be removed to not be a "modern" aircraft anymore. I mean, yes it is "modern" in term of technology as it was the new approach technically, what I think in concept could be great for CS as well to evoluatte in that direction as a first long step (I precise than "evoluate" in new technology aircraft, not on their job as they do it in a wonderful way).

MD11 is already an historical aircraft for passengers airplane (even if this is one of the most used for the heavy Cargo).

But my message was more because I miss the MD-11 since other did not migrate the bird to P3D. :'(
