Title: A/P keeps disconnecting
Post by balus on Jan 13th, 2017 at 10:24pm
First flight so I may be doing something wrong. Flying from PHNL to KORD, flightplan keyed in, all FMC pages completed etc. Take off 4R, trim doesn't seem to be holding as per the setting from the Takeoff REF page, CG was set from the value that was showing as the current CG.

Climb to around 5,000 ft, engage LNAV and VNAV and A/P. Aircraft starts climbing and turns toward the next waypoint and the A/P disconnects. Re-engage, disconnects again - this continues until I get to around 10,000 ft and then settles down. Climb to FL370, cruising along for a while and it starts again, yes I have a reasonable crosswind, thinking that may be the issue I shutdown ASN and set the weather to clear skies, now there is no wind and still the A/P disconnects.

Any suggestions, as the aircraft is unusable at present.

The only thing I can think of to fix this, is to reinstall the 777 using administrative rights (if you use Windows XP/Vista/7). Right click on the installer, csz772_1700.exe, select the Run as administrator option. It might be worth turning off your Anti-Virus, or AV shields, as well before reinstalling. Select the Repair option.

If you use Win 8/8.1/10, then it will ask you if your sure you want it to run the program, and if that's the case, then I don't know what to do to fix it. :(

I'm having problems with Win 10 (the free upgrade version) since I upgraded my computer a couple of months ago, and I can't activate it! :(

Check to make sure you're not tapping your rudder pedals (if you have them) or manipulating the rudder. The CS T7's autopilot is very sensitive; even a slight rudder input will disconnect the AP. Let me know if that works.

It's interesting that you say this, as my joystick, a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, has developed a problem with the twist grip. It always pulls to the left, which I have to override when taking of (my 777 ended up taking off from the grass beside the runway just now), yet it doesn't cause the AP to be disconnected. The AP is constantly fighting the left rudder input caused by the joystick, so I disable it once the AP is controlling the aircraft.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro and it was installed as administrator. I don't have any anti-virus on my flightsim computer and I have the firewall and windows defender disabled using group policy.

There's a thought - I have CH pedals and they are well known to be "noisy" - I might try increasing the null zone in FSUIPC, once I have finished my current flight, which is in an A330  :)

Have you tried re calibrating the joystick?

Yes. Numerous times, but it doesn't fix the issue. So either my joystick is a bit broken, or my USB drivers aren't working correctly.

I really need to do a repair of Windows 7 to make sure it isn't the drivers, as it seems to have started after I upgraded my computer a couple of months ago, but I'm being lazy!  :-[
