Title: P3dV3.1 fails to start after installing 727
Post by dbw on Jan 12th, 2016 at 1:03pm
The title says it all. Bought this P3d base and freighter...installed them...immediately thereafter my P3dV3.1 crashes on startup. I have run the repair function of P3d...No Change. Sent a ticket into support and no response yet.

If I am unable to correct this the only thing I can do is blow off totally my P3dV3.1 and start from scratch. I checked the internet and there are other reports of this but they sounded not common but it got me.

Captain Sim...Please step up to the plate with a fix. I haven't bought anything from you for a long time but thought I'd take a chance. Over the years I have bought a lot from you so I hope you have a fix for this.

It will be difficult to get support from a product that doesn't officially support P3D V3.x ... with that said check your DLL.XML ... there should be this reference in it:

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Captain Sim Sound</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
    <Path>Captain_Sim\bin\cs.sound.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

I believe all the CS aircraft use this.

Cheers, Rob.

Thanks Rob. Got it going. Actually it's a nice aircraft. Much better than I was expecting. Really enjoying it.

Hi Rob. I'm not sure what you mean by this. It states on the 727 product page that v2.7 does have Prepar3D v3 compatibility.
Did I miss something? I do have it installed with no issues and it does have the option to install into v3 in the installation prompts.

Cheers,
Thad

I have found the best way to install a sim is to first start your computer up in safe mode with internet.  Once you do then just install.

Also Service Pack 2.7 Prepar3D v.3.0 compatibility added

My only issue with the 2.7 version is the fuel panel does not work as it should and that is also in the FSX-SE version.

Sorry, but this popped up when searching on installation. I have just downloaded basic 777-200 and am trying to install, They ask where FSX is installed and I have no idea. I have the steam edition of FSX. I browsed but so sign of FX or Flight Sim.
Help!!!!!

FSX-SE is installed in X:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX or X:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\FSX. Where X: is the drive where you installed steam (i.e. E:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX), or placed the SteamLibrary (i.e. I:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\FSX), to install the games to. The examples are where my Steam and SteamLibrary are installed, with FSX being installed in the SteamLibrary. ;)
