Title: cs777 p3d v3
Post by macejoj on Oct 11th, 2015 at 10:05am
Dear all,
some issue in p3d v3. If I switch on TA radar, unfortunately it detects itself.. - so alarming traffic issue as its detects itself. This issue was not in all previous P3d versions...Has anybody else having the same issue ? Any solution to solve (except of not using TA radar..?)
many thanks !
JM

In my case, ACE is not working in P3D v3. It seems that ACE does not find the path to v3...

Has anyone got an idea how to fix that by myself? Or does Captain Sim intend to provide an update to make the product officially P3D v3 compatible?

Thanks for replies...

I am also having trouble with ACE in P3D v3.  "List index out of bounds (-1)" on startup, and says aircraft are "not found in the Airplanes folder" after that.

Exactly the same with me. That is why I would be happy about one or two words from the developers about that.

Hi Guys, after having 2-3 flights (p3d v3.1), I have below observations. Please if anybody can help on issues not known to the community or CS -

1. For 300 variant, once taxi starts, even at null throttles, the plane accelerate. (With 200 I did not observe this issue). (I have done the latest 1.6 updates on both 200 and 300.)

2. TAXI lights, strobe lights and landing lights are not working/glowing.

3. In flight plan, I could not DEL the flight discontinuity. (Though I tried few things like DEL- ERASE etc)

4. ACE do not work for p3d(known issue under fix). The fuel quantities though can be managed by default fuel manager of p3d. The CDU gets updated accordingly.

5. GSX do not work for me. However this is GSX issue and I will consult with them. Correction to their cfg files should take care of this.

Regards
Prayog

How can you change the aircraft weight (pax, cargo) without ACE?

That is actually the only point that prevents me from using the 777 in P3D3...

@kgalagadi
Please try using default loader within P3D which seem to update the CDU. Goto Vehicles --> Fuel and Payload menu. I did not try payload but fuel for sure do get updated and V1, VR and V2 do get adjusted accordingly. Hope this helps.

Dear all at Captain sim 777,
after having few more flights, I have few updates to issues I reported earlier (P3D V3.1) -

1. The acceleration at null throttles is issue for me for both 200 and 300 variants. Not sure if any member of community have this.

2. TAXI lights, NAV and strobes indeed do work, however they are too dim to be noticed. Strobes especially. I think some tweak might solve this. Members, please help if you have found out a way here.

3. I am not able to remove the flight plan discontinuity. Please if somebody here can guide me on how that is done on CS CDU.

Rest all is OK, nothing to report at the moment.

Regards
Prayog

Some of the issues will probably be corrected on the next version. This 1.7 version was discussed last November and which i thought will be out by then. Since November and we are now going to the second month of the new year and we still don't have an update. I like flying this bird but that annoying TCAS of your own plane is annoying. Get this one taken care of at least as a 1.6A version and you can take the rest of the year to hold up on that 1.7...if there is one.

This is good news indeed, Tanya. I have not been able to perform a flight with this aircraft even with V 1.6 due to LNAV and HDG modes not working correctly at all in P3D V 2.5. I haven't attempted an install in V 3.1.

Ive done a copy of the P3D.exe file, than rename it like fsx.exe, after this the ace recognize the simulator.
A trick to make it work with Tileproxy...
Hope it work for you.

@Captain Sim, that's affirmative. Good to hear that update work is still underway. However note that p3d 3.2 might be coming fast throwing different set of issues in terms of compatibility.

@jamestoneage, copying p3d.exe to fsx.exe does not help me on ACE. Please can you provide exact steps.

I can confirm that my CS T7 is also seeing itself when the TCAS is activated.

Prayog, does your ACE, at least find its plane folder, so that you can install new liveries?

Obs: Im using the version intended for MSFX, not P3D.

1º: Uninstall its installation.

2º if you dont have a fsx.exe make a copy your P3D.exe
3º rename it to fsx.exe
4º make a new installation, when the installer ask  MSFX folder it will need its fsx.exe inside it...
5º After install  add those lines to your dll.xml wich you can find on your folder C:\Users\you'reuser\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Captain Sim 777 Sound</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>Captain_Sim\777\cs.sound.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

After all Ive running P3D V3.1, Ive unload all the fuel of the LR GE, with the ACE Ive added 66160 lbs to it plus the 318000 lbs I opened its CDU and request the ZFW, wich it readed 384000 lbs, obs: no fuel onboard..Ive then changed again the weight in the ACE 14000 lbs less, then Ive got 370000 lbs.

Hope it works for you, perhaps maybe its because Im using the ZFW of PFPX aircraft databse, so Im getting a margin of error of 3300 lbs, probably because the CS 777-200LR ZFW is 316000 + 3300 lbs or a ZFW of 319300 lbs.

Let me know if you still have these issue.

@jamestoneage, thanks for detailing this out. I do not remember but the installation was done when FSX.exe was present in P3D folder. I had created it earlier for some other add-ons.

I will try out a fresh installation however where can I find MSFX copy of ACE please ?

D :'(ownload the update from their site csx777_1600.exe, it contains the ACE for MSFX, point the installer to your P3D folder, and the installer should replace the csz ACE...with the csx ACE...Give it full administrative rigths, if it detects your planes, it means that its working.

Let me know, if it works.

About your lights after update, mine still works but very weak...compared to those of their former CS 767-300...
To delete the flight discontinuity you must go to the LEGS menu...there you can delete all your route...GSX its only configured to today for the 777-200, when I used the -300 the catering trucks go to the same front door...and etc...I think for the concurrence plane it works nice for the -300 version and freighter as well...

I dont know why people aclaim so much the planes of the concurrence, those of CS even with some bugs are farway better, much more imersive and the details much more akin to the reality.
The color and font of the CDU are examples of this...
I know its not a pratice of CS, but they could implement the ACE to be able to manage the fuel, and show ZFW, ZFWCG, GW, CG Outside of this maybe change the EFB code to show PDF files...I already use PDFKneeboard, but use it inside the EFB would be more imersive... that would be great... ;D

If your problems are with the 777 v1.6, then v1.7 is out now! Check-in to Your Profile > Product (777 Captain (777-200) Base Pack [P3D]) > Extended Download Service > Get New Links, and download the latest version of the Captain Sim 777. The ACE for the 777 should work in P3D v2.x/3.x.

I have the 777 Captain installed in P3Dv2.5 and P3Dv3.1, and the ACE works fine for both of them. :)

Note. You need to get the latest versions of the Expansion Models (777-300 and 777 Freighter).

I confirm that with update 1.7, ACE works fine with P3D v3.1
Therefore no need anymore to take work-around.

Thanks anyway jamestoneage for advices on strobe lights and CDU operation. Yes, strobes need to have brighter flash.

Since I cant create new threads dunno why I will ask this here.

Is CS working in making the plane more stable at 4x-16x??

I would be more happy flying at 4x in very long flights!!

Please don't say "A Simultation should be used at 1x Speed or similar".
