Title: CS 767 in P3D 2.5
Post by CptVHHH on Sep 19th, 2015 at 4:55am
Hi,

I have been trying to install the 767 in P3D. I can install it, but the only issue i have is that the Speed Dial and Altitude Dial have 000 across them. I cant get them to the correct state where the Speed Dial says 200 and the Altitude Dial says 10000. I have tried reloading the aircraft as suggested in previous threads.I installed the 767 in FSX and FSX:Steam and i didn't have this issue.

Did you use the Estonia Migration tool to convert it over.. That's how I got into my P3D originally & everything pretty much seemed to work fine..

Yes i did use the migration tool.  The 767 works flawlessly in FSX:Steam but in P3D the install procedure is flawless, but the panel just wont load up correctly.

Hello,
for me CS767 does work with P3D 2.5 but I have encountered, one problem. My CS767's fmc is blank it only shows the neon green boxes when you switch from page to page, but no words on the screen. Almost like it's missing textures...
Thanks!
KH

Anyway how do I fix this?

Here is how to configure it to fully work in P3D v2.5:
Install it normally, or just copy all the Captain Sim directories from FSX folder to P3D.
Then after this go to your directory X:\Users\yourwindowsaccount\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\
there you will find this file called dll.xml, open it with notepad and admin rights and in its end lines add the next code before this code line </SimBase.Document> click save,  then almost everything should work, here the bleed air unit and ground power unit wont work.
  <Launch.Addon>
           <Name>Captain Sim 767 Menu</Name>
           <Disabled>False</Disabled>
           <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll</Path>
     </Launch.Addon>
Your installation must be registered in your windows register.

OR even WITH the migration tool?

I am trying to get the demo to work.  I read that this CS767 works well in P3D v2 but I want to get the demo version working before I go all in on the purchase.

The demo is very limited as I recall in FSX. I have got the full version  working OK in P3D v 2.5 using the migration tool.
I believe that when you buy the package, the demo version must be deleted. :D

Yes I really didn't get the point of the demo either, I must agree.  Anyway, I took the plunge and it worked, with a little help from our Estonian friends.

Now I need to learn to use the darn autopilot, but I can say that about the overwhelming majority of the planes I own.

How did you get it to work with the migration tool?

Is there any sort of update status of 767 V2.0? All i see is a wish list post about it. Is it in actual development? Well along in progress or just started?  So badly needing a good 767 in prepar3d.

I bought the plane in the recent sale and have tried to manually get it working in p3dv3. its all installed etc but the screens are black, autopilot numbers not changing when dial turned.

you say "Your installation must be registered in your windows register"
How do I do this since I have manually installed it to FSX on the laptop then transfered the files to another computer

with thanks

It won't work on another computer. You registered it on the laptop, but not on your current computer. Even if you copy the registry info from the laptop to you computer, it will not work because the activation code was not for the computer.

The best thing to do, is to install FSX on your computer > activate/install the 767 into FSX > copy everything for the 767 from FSX to P3D v2.x > copy the info from the FSX DLL.XML to the P3D DLL.XML > uninstall FSX.

Thank you very much ....Looks like I shall have to try this

It worked in p3d on my laptop where it was installed to FSX in the first place ....any idea why the speed knob isn't displaying anything whilst turning it though?

I can only assume it's because the 767 is for FSX, not P3Dv2.x. :(

Thanks again,

Didn't I read that you have everything from CS working in p3d bar one thing?
Does it work for you fully in p3d?

Also, would installing fsx on the same computer not effect the p3dv3 install what so ever??

I have the advantage that I have the 767 installed in FSX, FSX-SE, and P3D v2.5 (it's not installed in P3D v3.1 yet though). It might be that having it correctly installed in FSX carries over something to P3D v2.5. :-/

I have the CS757 working quite well in P3Dv3. Same old bugs with the FMC and the flight model. I did have an odd issue with TCAS until I found that the Avatar Mode in P3D causes an issue with it. To resolve I disabled Avatar Mode and restarted P3D then the traffic alarms went away and the TCAS worked properly.

I think you could enable Avatar Mode after you startup P3D and it won't conflict with the CS TCAS gauge. That's how I discovered the cause of the issue anyway.

I can confirm that the 767 and expansion K767 are working fully under P3D 3.2.3.16769

Be sure and add the (2) DLL.dll entries to P3D install and also be sure the FULL path for the ACE points to where you have the ACE installed.

All cockpit sounds work as well as the ACE configuration utility. Windows 7 Ult 64bit SP1.

Hello!

I'm user P3Dv3 and I wany use the boieng 767 in this program.  I have followed the instructions of Markoz, and all goes perfect but I'm stuck on the 4 point  :-[when "Open the FSX DLL.xml file and copy the 767 (2 entries) and 777 entry, these:

<Launch.Addon>
            <Name>Captain Sim 767 Menu</Name>
            <Disabled>False</Disabled>
            <Path>Captain_Sim\Captain_Sim.b767.menu.dll</Path>
      </Launch.Addon>
      <Launch.Addon>
            <Name>Captain Sim 767 Sound</Name>
            <Disabled>True</Disabled>
            <Path>Captain_Sim\767\cs.sound.dll</Path>
      </Launch.Addon>
      <Launch.Addon>
            <Name>Captain Sim 777 Sound</Name>
            <Disabled>False</Disabled>
            <Path>Captain_Sim\777\cs.sound.dll</Path>
      </Launch.Addon>

I don't know which program opens "DLL."  and don't know how to paste them in the P3D DLL.xml file. ¿Any Idea?

I have de boeing 777 for P3D and all its fine. I understand that the the point 5 is not necessary ¿not? (5. Go to P3D\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B777-200ER_GE\panel folder. Open the panel.cfg and comment out, or delete, the following line, found in [Window.00]:
gauge02=Captain_Sim.x777.update!Main, 0, 0, 3, 3
because it WILL cause P3D to crash to desktop!!!

Thanks!!! :)

Are you certain you installed the migration tool correctly and have it pointed to the target sim P3D?

Once you're certain you run the Captain installer and you may have to manually point it to your P3d install location (root folder).
