Title: Instructions for adding Delco Carousel IV-A INS Post by mark767 on Aug 3rd, 2015 at 1:02pm
This works now for verson 2.6
INS is available at www.simufly.com/ins/ Download version 1.51 It will look like this: Shift-2 gives you the ICONS to bring up the units. You need to do the following to the Panel.cfg for each version of the 727 you have installed. Copy and paste the highlighted items below into your panel.cfg and make sure you double check the numbering to make sure its sequential. Thanks very much for the INS gauge for the 727. I installed it this morning, and it works perfectly! This makes the 727 even more realistic and enjoyable to fly.

I can't get it works for me. I can't see the icons on the panel shift + 2.
I have copied and paste all the lines marked in yellow in the files panel.cfg either in 727-100 and 727-200. Simuyfly CIVA INS is installed and working in other aircrafts. Any idea why it does not work? Thank you very much. |
Title: Re: Instructions for adding Delco Carousel IV-A INS Post by Jim Kaye on Aug 4th, 2015 at 10:14pm
When I was installing the CIVA, I noticed that I needed to add one line above the two that had been marked in yellow, in order to have the gauges all in sequence, i.e. gauge37, gauge38, gauge39, and gauge40. You might check and see if you need that extra line, which has to do with V-One. Gauge37 refers to AltCallouts, gauge38 refers to V-One, gauge39 Captain_Sim.p722, and gauge40 refers to /civa/INS!Config...

I am thinking now that the Shift+2 icons are from another install of this gauge on an earlier version of the 727 and I had to install those icons into the gauges folder. Not sure thought but let me look.

Here is the original post from CoolIP.
http://www.captainsim.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1286031420 It seems that those icon gauges are part of the CIVA INS version1.51. Maybe you need to try and reinstall it from here: http://www.simufly.com/ins/download.html |

I added
gauge01=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, Def_B727 in [Window00] per CIVA documentation |
Title: Re: Instructions for adding Delco Carousel IV-A INS Post by Peje on Aug 10th, 2015 at 2:50pm
Ins config. must take place in [Vcockpit01] in order to position and align the INS.
MSU's and CDU's are not powered if Ins config is set in [Window00] However, on the ground, on my computer, the INS switches are not clickable. I didn't make a flight yet. |

Peje is correct in that the CIVA INS will not function with 'gauge01=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, Def_B727' under a certain condition. If you have FSX set-up with 'Setting - Display' to 'Default Cockpit View' set to '2D', then having 'gauge01=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, Def_B727' in '[Window00]' will work just fine. However, if the 'Default Cockpit View' is set to '3D', you can only activate the CIVA INS by switching to Cockpit View (2D Window) or pressing 'Shift + 1' before you can power-up the CIVA INS. If you always start-up in the '3D' cockpit, then place 'gauge0X=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, Def_B727' in the [VCockpit01] section of your panel.cfg file. |

fsxpaul, thank you for your contribution.
I did add the,../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, Def_B727,in both windows, starting the INS from shift 1 window. Now both CDU's are powered and the INS switches are clickable. Jus need to check that on flight one of these days. BTW there is only one file in the CIVA folder. |
Title: Re: Instructions for adding Delco Carousel IV-A INS Post by Ken Boardman on Aug 14th, 2015 at 11:13pm
I just installed the 2.6 update and I'm a bit confused
about status of the CIVA INS. Prior to uninstalling the previous version, I had a properly operating dual CIVA system. After installing V2.6, I was preparing to reinstall dual CIVA and then noticed that CIVA entries already existed in the new (v2.6) panel.cfg files. Not sure what to do now ~:) The included CIVA appears to be a single unit system. If this is correct, I suppose (to be safe) that to install a dual CIVA system, all the existing CIVA entries should be removed from the panel.cfg and then just follow the instructions for installing the dual CIVA. Any clarification or tips will be appreciated. Also, I could not find any instructions in the 2.6 manuals for using the (included) CIVA. Ken Boardman |

Same question as Ken in the post above. I have made the mods to the panel config. Shift +2 still only brings up the old set of ICONS. I can get the INS, AEDU, and MSU by going to views, instrument panel and selecting them. Do we need to eliminate the single INS references in the config that came with v 2.6 to get the icons to work properly for this dual INS setup?

And how can I get b727 follow Delco Carousel IV-A INS in auto pilot?
And one more question, How can I load ADC file in the second CDU?. When I load the ADC, I can only operate it in the primary CDU. Thank you very much. |

Okay...let's try this again.
It was nice that mark767 offered a CIVA INS solution but there seem to be too many questions and some confusion regarding Shift+2 to bring up the CIVA icons. Here is code for a Dual-CIVA using a non-modified / stock panel.cfg, copy and paste the yellow highlighted sections where nessesary: NOTE: Place gauge39=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, CSB727 in [VCockpit01] -OR- gauge01=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, CSB727 in [Window00] - NOT both places! Code (] [Window Titles):

Quick question FSXpaul, now I can see both INS panels displaying correctly, however I lost the click-ability of the overhead panel. Do you have this issue?
Ok fixed...Did the following as per your suggestion. Added the line in [window00] gauge01=../civa/INS!Config, 0, 0, 0, 0, CS727 and kept gauge 39 default in [VCockpit01] gauge39=Captain_Sim.p722.sys!main, 0,0, 2,2 |
