Thanks for the update.   I was wondering if there is any documentation for the new features, like the INS and the EPR Hold , TAT gauge and such?

Manuals Part I and II were updated with all necessary information.

Nice.   I'll check it out.  First flight went quite well.

It's pretty cool that you guys incorporated a lot of the improvements that Paul has given us.

Hmmm....   Any chance you updated the manuals and forgot to upload the new versions?

Searches like "Civa"  "INS"  "v1"   "EPR Hold" are not finding anything in either part I or II.   The section describing the Simicon panel is unchanged, no mention of the new "clean cabin"  "callout" buttons or anything!

?????!!!! :-X

I just downloaded the manuals. They are updated (both dated VERSION: 16 JULY, 2015). :-/

C-IVA instructions start at page 103 of manual 2

Weird.  Maybe my computer was pulling out an older version of the manuals from my cache or something, because now my searches are working and the section on the Simicons IS updated now.

Thanks for the 2.5 update, which I just downloaded.  Really appreciate the V-One features being included.  Looking forward to flying it.

As far as installing the update goes, are there install instructions? Should we uninstall the previous aircraft first, back up anything (like changes to aircraft.cfg, liveries), Just install it over the current install?

Oh - never mind. I just saw the install notes on the product page

3. Uninstall everything from the 727 Captain family. (Start> Programs> Captain Sim> 727 Captain)

4. Make sure FSX / FSX-SE / Prepar3D is not runnung.

5. Double click the downloaded csp721_2500.exe file to install* the 2.5.

6. Install all Expansion models (if any) in any order.

7. Restart your computer.

* - The 2.5 will overwrite previously installed freeware liveries and/or other modifications of the original product. Prior to uninstall the product please backup all data added to the original product.

There maybe some differences in the aircraft.cfg, so copy your 3rd party livery entries across to be on the safe side! ;)

Yep - me too! FSX Acceleration WIndows 7 64 Pro. FSX completely hangs. Some upgrade. It's totally borked. Install at your own risk. It's back to 2.4 for me. Thanks for all the fish guys!

Does SP 2.5 work for anyone in FSX Acceleration? (boxed, not Steam)

SP 2.5 works perfectly for me.  I do not have Acceleration, but have the latest service packs for FSX.  I did not uninstall anything, just installed 2.5 directly, after downloading.  I do not have any liveries for the 727 other than those that came with 2.5.  Appreciate the V1, VR and V2 callouts, as well as being able to follow the flight plan in GPS mode.  I am very happy with the update.   :) :)

For those with issues, are you installing as Administrator?

Title: Re: SP 2.5 is available!

Can't download in IE - AVG says it is a virus and Chrome says insufficient permission to open.  Have uninstalled 2.4 so am now 727-less. :-?

If not I can explain how I do it.

Confirmed. I redid the whole process just to make sure (I usually do, but couldn't swear to it the first time...). Still borked for me.  >:(

I've gone back to 2.4 yet again. I then realized that I only tried one of the 727-100 variations. Have you tested all three external variations?

Yes.  I have all the variants, and they are all working well.

I'm running FSX Boxed Acceleration on Win 7 64.

I have this issue as well. AVG points to csu721_2500.exe:\$VJK\P721.dll as a win32/Heur virus
Any thoughts? I assume its a false alarm but just want to be sure.

Thank you in advance.

I kind of expected you'd say that. So I don't know what the problem is. Two attempts and two total fails. Hours wasted. I'm bummed out.

Yes, it's false alarm due to antipiracy code. P721.dll is a part of 727's installator. Here is virus total report.

So how do you get around it?  Can't see where to turn AVG "off" and don't want the bother of uninstalling/re-installing it.

Title: Re: SP 2.5 is available!
Post by expat on Jul 20th, 2015 at 10:34am
OK, I switched off AVG and after quite a few hoops (including a CTD - but a restart solved that I think) got the new bird to show up.  Problem is that AVG - re-enabled - keeps seeing the install as a threat and wants to remove/disable it.

Can you use a different anti-piracy app or modify it so it doesn't cause such a hassle?  Shouldn't the convenience of your paying customers come first?

Can you not exclude the location from live checking by AVG?

Disable the shields, or turn of the Anti-Virus program OFF during the downloading and installing. AV software is pretty harsh these day, anything that accesses the registry is considered a virus, even if it isn't. They will also delete the file the moment you try to access it if the AV is on. :(

I´m having FSX-Steam freeze all the time when choosing 727-100 or 200 or Cargo. After freeze, then CTD.

None of the installers could find my FSX-SE instalation, i had to put it by hand. After that, the plane appears correctly in the FSX folder and i can see then in the Airplanes to choose inside FSX, but when i click in one, immediate freeze.
I cannot see any new entry in DLL.XML, is there should be one there?

Previous version (2.4) worked perfectly.
Please help!

Yes, this update is a bit of a mess!  I can't get any battery or APU and the overhead click spots don't work at all.

Title: Re: SP 2.5 is available!
Post by expat on Jul 20th, 2015 at 6:31pm
I went into AVG and excluded my entire FSX folder (don't have the time or patience to exclude each individual file + don't know which is the culprit among hundreds of files).

Now, FSX crashes whenever I select the 727.  707 is fine. Uninstalling and going back to 2.4.  This is a disappointment and been a waste of time.  ::)

Good news!  Shut down AVG, did an uninstall, reinstall and loaded the 727 into FSX, then exited and restarted pc - with AVG off. Restart launched AVG and all is working now as it should. ;)

The flight simulator x steam edition is closing when I choosing 727-100 or 727-200.

When the program is installed it created a folder in C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE \DLL

I copied this dll inside of the next path:

C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

and now is working !!!

"except heading switch

Pleased to report that with CS help, I was able to get V2.5 to load and run. A conflict with some dlls (2 from MilViz F15) was the problem. Workaround (temporary I hope) is to comment out the offending dlls in my dll.xml file.

This is a significant release. Moves the CS 727 up a notch for sure!

Once I read how to enable the flaps gauges, the only nuisance issue I'm having is the Heading Bug not moving. Reboots and reloads don't help. It's stuck! Anybody discovered a fix for this?
