Title: CS INS

I was wondering if it would be possible to add the CS INS from the L1011 to the 727? Has anyone tried this before?

That would be awesome.

Intriguing idea.

Looks like no for now.  I did put 30 mins or so into pulling the 2d window components of the CS Civa out of the L-1011 and putting them into the CS 727.  But it looks like the XML code is tied into variables from the panel code of the L-1011 and the Civa won't power up or allow any keypresses in the 727.

They'd have to make it more general.  Right now it's a L-1011 thing and I suspect that's the way they want it.

A lot of research might turn up the values to set to make the Civa think it's in an L-1011, but I don't have the time to put into it.

There could be a link between the 2D INS and the 3D INS, of which the latter is integrated in the csl111_interior.MDL. :-/

I'm sure there's a link, when you change one the other changes too.  I took a look at the XML implementing the Civa (civa.cab) and there's quite a few variables that don't seem to originate in the code, but are read.

I strongly suspect they are calculated in the panel code.

I think with enough effort you could get it untangled from the L-1011, maybe, but it's hard to justify that level of effort when the old CIVA works ok.

Except for the great way CS integrated it to read the FS flightplan and automatically switch "pages" when you have more than 9 waypoints.  Those two changes make the whole thing much less painful to deal with!
