Title: 737 landing gears missing and controls not work.
Post by emrahrasa on Dec 23rd, 2014 at 12:03pm
Hello;
I buy today 737 Captain, i have problems

- Landing gears missing
- Flight controls not work
- I have 727 Captain and 707 Captain, same problems have both planes
- Try clear registry and re-install 727, 707 and 737 but still have problems, all CaptainSim planes not working

- My OS is Windows 8.1 Pro
- I have FSX Steam Edition

What is the solution of these problems?
Thanks.

You should try a reinstall.

If you use Vista, Win7, Win8 or Win8.1, make sure to run the installer using the "Run as administrator" option. You do this by right clicking on the file and selecting "Run as administrator" from the list that appears.

Maybe you need to try a complete uninstall/reinstall:

If regular reinstall did not fix your problem you can try to clean registry.
Please be careful and do it on your own risk!

How to clean Registry:
1. Uninstall the product
2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK.
3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\)
For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\C130XPRO
Make sure you are going to delete correct folder!
4. Delete the product entry folder.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the product.

If you stil have issues and the above does not help we must admit your system configuration is a rare exception. You can try to install the product on another system or request a refund.

The correct folder to delete in the registry is

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\e732, or

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\e732

Then when you need to reactivate it, I recommend you try a Manual Offline Activation.

Have you tried installing it with your Anti Virus software off/disabled? Maybe it is blocking the 737 from installing properly. :(

Hello Mark;
- Uninstall my anti-virus software (Webroot SecureAnywhere)
- Uninstall 737, 707 and 727
- Clear CaptainSim key in registry
- Restart computer
- Install 737, 707 and 727 (use 'Run as Administrator')
- 737 landing gear missing and contolls not work
- 707 landing gear missing and contolls not work
- 727 landing gear missing and contolls not work

CaptainSim planes may be incompatible FSX Steam Edition?

Are you installing them directly in FSX-SE? There is no guarantee that that will work. I have copied my Captain Sim FSX products across to FSX-SE, but they do not all work properly. See my Topic here: CS aircraft in FSX-SE - my results

Note. I have not finished testing them all yet, as you will notice. With Christmas day less than 12 hours away here in Australia, I'm getting busier with the preparations, so my testing time is currently limited.

Same thing is happening to me, no landing gear and no controls. I've tried everything too, uninstall and reinstall, clear reg, and still nothing seems to work. Kind of sucks but oh well I got it during the sale. Thankfully the C-130 seems to be working on the steam edition.

If you have FSX, install it into there, then move everything over to FSX-SE.

I intend to write how I got the 737 to work in FSX-SE, but I still have FSX installed as well, so that might make a difference.

The how to will be done on, or after, Boxing Day, depending on if we have our traditional family get together on that day. The weather forecast doesn't look promising, so we might postpone it until another fine day. ;)

Unfortunately FSX:SE is my only copy. I sure CS will come out with a patch or something, at this moment while it sucks that the plane doesn't work , it's not the end of the world. I was lucky to pick it up on sale.

Looking forward to seeing the write up.

It's unfortunate that a lot of people buying Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition are buying addons that don't work correctly for it yet. They will have to wait until the developers create installers for it.

My "How to" isn't going to get it to work for you, so you will need to wait for an updated installer. I hope it doesn't take too long. :(

What worries me is that all of the reasources required to update the installers will further delay sp1.1. Looks like the 777 is getting all of the attention anyway

I had the same issues as described in this thread (no gear appearing, most controls not working), although I am using Prepar3d (P3D) rather than FSX. My issue was to do with SimConnect, which seems to be an interface for 3rd party utilities to connect into FSX/P3D.

In my case, I had to manually install an older version of SimConnect for FSX, which for me was located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi. After doing this everything worked fine. I purchased P3D / the 737 package today, so everything was a fresh install.

Thought I would leave this here in case it helps anyone else in future. Bumping this particular thread because this is what Google was bringing me to.

Cheers.
