Title: 727 captain and FSX steam edition problems??
Post by CesarSMX on Dec 23rd, 2014 at 4:35am
Hello! well I have a problem here!
I just got FSX steam edition, and I am having a problem with this plane, when it loads I think it is having problems with activation, because no matter what I do (reload plane, repair installation, change livery) I can not click on any button or close cockpit windows, so do any of you know how to fix it? or having the same issue?

Greetings!

The only things not working in FSX-SE are the nav and strobe lights, the VC sounds and the A/P! I can start it up and fly it around manually (with the windows closed), and the A/P turns on,but doesn't do anything. :(

[edit][timestamp=1419316256] A/P works. The Avionics Switch was off and that stopped the A/P from working! :)[/edit]

Nice! but i dont know what is happening to me!, I can not click on any button at the overhead and front panel, (side panel is fine) and cant close windnows, i think its because activation problems.

Does FSUIPC needs to be installed before installing the plane??? because i tried everything and got the same issue  :-[.

Now, I just installed my old cd DELUXE version so I could play it.  :-/

IF FSUIPC is not needed for the CS 727, then the advantage to installing FSUIPC for FSX-SE is that it will create a DLL.XML file in C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE, in which you need to copy the info from the FSX DLL.XML file over to the one for FSX-SE.

If you installed the 727 directly into FSX-SE, then that might be the reason for the problems. The installer is programmed to install for FSX, not FSX-SE!

Hi I have the same problem as you are having. I have several Captain Sim products and all are very good. However, I purchased the 727-100 and it works beautifully and now I purchased the 727-200. I have FS acceleration not the steam edition but am experiencing the same thing. The cockpit windows don't close and there is nothing up front working except the fire handles. The overhead nothing works either. The FE's stuff all works. Everything outside works like flaps and steering. I have reloaded product twice and removed the registry entry before the second load. I have no add-ons. So for the moment the airplane is not usable. The 727-100 works fine. The last thing loaded before this was the 777 1.6 upgrade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have figured out to make it work. I had a similar problem with the 707 which I didn't remember. When I purchased the product I received an email with a link to the server and downloaded it and nothing worked as far as switches and turning knobs. After reading the forum they said to get the product from your profile and alternate servers. So I removed the 727-200 product and did that and reinstalled it now the 727-200 works like a champ. I will have to remember that for the next time. So I am good to go now and maybe the gentle man here could try that if he hasn't already. Thanks

I always download the original file from the main server, not an alternate server, and I've never had that problem. Using the Extended Download Service, the downloads are always from the USA (USA 1).

I'm having the same problem- nothing in the vc is clickable, and no gauges work, which means all of my CS-727 aircraft are pretty much unflyable. I have all 3 727 Captain packs and they all worked fine (except for the wonky AP) in FSX, but now I installed them into FSX:SE and they are unflyable. Just to make sure, I just did a seat-of-the-pants takeoff and found that the airspeed indicator, altimeter, VSI, engine gauges... NOTHING works inside the cockpit except those things that are directly controllable using joystick buttons and/or hotkeys (lights, for example). But without a working airspeed, artificial horizon, VSI, etc. my purchases are pretty much useless.

I have read the rest of this thread, and unfortunately it's mostly gobbledygook to me- what the kitten is "FSUIPC?" Do I need it, and if so, what does it do, why do I need it and where would I get it? I used the Capt Sim installer just like before, and the Steam edition is installed on a separate drive from windows, so UAC isn't the problem, and each time I fly a new aircraft I make sure to answer YES to the Trusted app? question.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi! I'm interested in buying the 727 (as well as a couple of others), but I only have Steam Edition of FSX. I think the aircraft are gorgeous but I can't afford to waste money if they don't work properly and there's no update planned to get them to work. Are there any known issues with FSX:SE in general, and/or is this aircraft still supported?

Also, I can't make a new topic anywhere. :(

My Captain Sim aircraft are working in FSX-SE, but I also have them installed in FSX. That might make a difference to whether they work or not.

At the time of my writing this:

KB #10840:

Q: I have issues with your product in Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition.

A:
Currently we only support 777 Captain in Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition. А or other products please stand by for updates.

Understood!

I was going to give it a test with the demo version but it says that the gauges don't work so... that's not much help for me. :/ I mean I imagine the model's going to load. I'll just wait until there's more news then.

Yeah. The Demo only really gives you a look at how beautiful the aircraft is (inside and out). ;)

It might be possible to install into FSX-SE and have it working perfectly fine, but seeing as I have FSX installed as well, it might be influencing how well it works in FSX-SE. :-/

[edit]I hope Captain Sim don't take too long to make their aircraft available for FSX-SE. I think it will be well worth their while. I was reading that they no longer make FSX Gold Boxed Edition, so FSX-SE is the way newbies will have to go if they want it.[/edit]

Yeah, whether we like it or not, FSX-SE is the future of that particular platform. In terms of whether or not it's worth it, I'll throw my lot in there. That's my £36 ready and waiting for a confirmation that it's working.

I'm using FSX + Acc. and I'm having a similar problem myself.  Prior to installing SP 2.6 I had 2.4 and all my planes worked fine.  After uninstalling everything related to the 727 Captain and installing the latest version, all my planes have been rendered USELESS!  I'm now unable to click on any of the buttons or switches in the VC.  It's enough to make me want to pull my hair out when I think about all the liveries and various fixes for the 727's bugs I'll have to reinstall if this new version doesn't work.  I've opened a ticket with customer support and hopefully they can resolve the problem.

I am having almost the same problem since installing the new CS 727 version 2.6. The 727 VC switches, etc are useless.
My other planes are fine so far including CS products.
Been working via support tickets with CS now x 2 days and still the VC is useless. Version 2.4 was OK.  CS support have been great so far with this issue. Hopefully will be able solve it this week  :o

At least they are working with you to get it fixed.  It is a bit disconcerting that you've been on it for 2 days and it still doesn't work.  I had a similar problem when I purchased and installed the 777.  It turned out to be an activation problem.  They sent me a new download link and all has been well since then.  I've installed updates for it as well as the 737 with no issues.  Have they given you any indication of what the problem could be?  I opened a ticket yesterday but I haven't heard back from customer support yet.

Did you ever get this issue resolved only i'm having the same problem. I have tried everything that has been suggested on other forums as well as this forum on multiple posts.

I have installed and repaired so many times, i have my security turned off when installing as well as making sure that i 'Run as Admin', but everytime i load the aircraft the gauges don't work none of them, on the normal models (non freight) there isn't any click spots appearing, on the freight models the click spots appear but you can't do anything with them the dials just don't work or turn.  The fuel panel is blank and none of the engineers panel work either.

This is really frustrating as i have this model on my other pc working in original FSX no probs and its a dream to fly i love it but it baffles me as to why it doesn't work on FSX SE????!!!!
