Title: CS aircraft in FSX-SE - my results
Post by Markoz on Dec 22nd, 2014 at 4:54am
Captain Sim aircraft tested in FSX-SE, and the result I get:

L-1011 and L-1011F - Working fine except for no engine exhaust smoke.

CS 707-300 - Works fine except for no engine exhaust smoke and the A/P does NOT work.

757-200 - Works fine except for no engine exhaust smoke. It still has the problem with the T/D, so no surprises there!

Note. The Nav and Strobe lights don't seem to work on any of the CS aircraft I have tried so far. The Beacon lights do work. :-/

I will update this post as I finish testing them, when I can!

Later on, I will explain everything I have done, IN THE FORUM THAT APPLIES TO THEM! i.e. How I did it for the L-1011 & L-1011F will be explained in the 1011 Captain (FSX) - General forum. That will also be done when I can get to it.

With Christmas approaching very fast, my available time for this will decrease to the point of not doing anything at all for 2 (Christmas Day and Boxing Day), or 3 days.

777 Captain - Works fine with no problems at all. The interior sound works (at least it did in my test flight).

Space Shuttle - Works fine with no problems at all. Interior sounds worked fine in this one too.

707 Captain - Works fine. The interior sounds work fine. And the A/P does work! I probably had the Avionics Master Switch OFF which would explain why the A/P wasn't working in my original test!

No Nav and Strobe lights on any of them so far. :(

Nice one! Turning the Special Effects Detail slider to Medium got the Strobe lights and the Engine Smoke working on the L-1011! Thanks a million.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'll have to retest the other aircraft to see if it helps with them too. If it works for one, I think it should work for the others. ;)

Not yet. I've had a bad day today, so not I have not had much time for computer play. :(

[edit]Just did a quick check and it looks like they fixed it. I only tested the L-1011 so far though.[/edit]

Any different results after the FSX-SE patch?

Yes. After the recent patch, with the Special effects detail: set to maximum, all the lights (nav, beacon and strobe) on CS aircraft appear to be working now. The engine smoke, for those aircraft that use the black smoke effect, is working now as well. :)

Mark

I've just spotted this thread. Only just bought FSX-SE today. I'm most interested in getting my 707Captain and the very latest CS L-1011 working in FSX-SE. The default aircraft in FSX-SE just don't cut it for me.

Perhaps, time permitting, you'd be kind enough to PM me or write it here as to how I get these 2 aircraft functioning like you have done, i.e.beacon,lights,smoke, etc etc in FSX-SE.

Thanks in advance.

I really should take the time to explain how I did it in the forums for each of aircraft (i.e. 1011 Captain (FSX) - General forum with the info on how I did it for the L-1011), except the 777 because there is a migration tool for that. I already did the CS 757 "how to" (did I do any others?), and I was going to do all of them. I got busy during Christmas and the New Year and never did any more of them. :-/
